First Prenatal Appointment!

Finally, got my first prenatal appointment set up

I have to admit that I was shocked they set me up for 6w (almost 7w). With my first 2 pregnancies, my OB didn't see me until I was 8/9w along. So, let me ask (because I'm really curious), is it the same as an 8w appt? Will there be an ultrasound?

i had my 1st appt yesterday at 6w (which is not standard, but i had an mc my last pregnancy) it was still the same though with meeting hte nurse practitioner and then i had a pelvic exam.

I figured it would be almost the same with an exam and giving a sample, but I didn't know if there would be an ultrasound, too.

I did have one as well but it was soley due to having a previous MC otherwise my dr does not do U/S till 18w

I had my first appointment at 6 weeks with my first and it was the standard appointment with ultrasound. We were able to see everything transabdominally.

I'm getting an U/S at 6 weeks but only because there is a discrepancy on my EDD. Otherwise they usually don't do them until 10 weeks.

I'll be getting an transvaginal ultrasound at 7 weeks. I called the office this week because I was second guessing this. They said they do viability checks between 6-9 weeks, so the timing was fine and I didn't have to wait for 8 weeks.

First I got mine so early at 4w and we were able to see the gestational and yolk sac with the vaginal US:) we confirmed the pregnancy and I was so happy then 10 days later I supposed to be 5 and a half weeks we had another US this time was abdominal we saw the baby and hear the heartbeat it was amazing

and she/he surprised us by being 6w3d! So we were wrong about the exact date! And the next one is end of August when I will be 12 weeks so no ultrasound for a month:((( it seems a lil long what do you think? Not at 8w or 10w?

I have mine on 3rd Aug, (6w) but this is because of a previous ectopic and last pregnancy ending in MC at 6w5d in April, otherwise I would of had my first scan at 12w which I think is a long time to wait without anything in between.

@mommytobe2122 I think that is about right as you've had 2 scans already and they have confirmed a heartbeat and dating from the first scan you had at 4w.
Early scans are only usually given if the pregnancy is high risk or previous MC otherwise women get 1 or 2 scans throughout the pregnancy unless more is needed.

I had my first appt yesterday, and I was only at 5+1. She did the family history, pelvic exam, urine sample, blood work, and she wants me to come back every 4 weeks through October.

ETA: I didn't have an ultrasound yesterday, there'll be one at 9 weeks I believe.

shorty6788 I had one at just over 5w (we thought I was 6) and then again at almost 6. Some doctors will do them earlier, and I think sometimes they just go ahead and schedule you when there's an opening. If you'll almost be 7w you should be able to hear the HB. We heard at almost 6 weeks.

I'm on my 3rd pregnancy and always had an initial appointment at 5 weeks. They usually schedule blood work and ultrasounds and do my history etc.

I'm on my first pregnancy and had my first ultrasound today (transabdominal) We meet with my dr next week on Thursday and since they don't do ultrasounds on Thursdays I think thats why I went in today. I am 6W4D
