Sex question .

I know I might not get much response back on this question because from previous discussions most of you ladies are no longer having sex but me and my SO are . Any mommas that could maybe answer this id like to know..
I'm currently 37w2d , I had recently got my strep b swab done and while my ob was there she said she can see my cervix and it looks really soft but I wasn't dilated yet. My appointment I had Tuesday she mentioned that she doesn't do cervix checks unless I ask because they can be pretty painful for the most part and who wants someone down their checking every week. So with that I have NO idea if I've dilated since then..(although I'm considering asking her to check next week) My question about sex is , is it still safe to have sex if i were to be dilated? Or could that maybe kickstart things? Since sex is known to naturally induce labor.. (Which I'm not trying to do)

  • @Miz_Liz said exactly what I was about to say.
  • I'm dilated to two and my cervix is 70-80% effaced and my doctor didn't tell us that we couldn't continue having sex. She also told me I could continue walking, which makes me happy. I'm 38w3d today. :)
  • Sex it up ;)  and enjoy it!!!  Baby will only come if they are ready!

  • Unless your doctor put you on pelvic rest or your water is broken go for it!

    Have fun!

    This exactly! Enjoy ;)

  • Nope, give'r :D
  • Don't stop sexing!!!!!!! It's sooo good! (I totally asked SO the other day if he could feel the little guy, he kind of laughed really hard and said no.) Doctors recommend sex up until labor, it makes the process alot easier so they say!
  • Yes.

As a PP said unless your doc has told you otherwise, keep sexing it up! :) My DH and I haven't slowed down at all during this pregnancy, gotta keep that pelvic floor strong ;)
  • I making DH read this freaking thread. We had remained active this whole until like a week or so ago I guess when he decided hes finally freaked out thinking hes going to make me go into labor early.

Same here. I told my DH I was going to get a signed doctors note but maybe reading this will work instead lol
  • I don't think there's anything wrong with it at all. I'm actually jealous your still able to. I'm getting desperate because I miss it so much but every time we try its so uncomfortable that we don't enjoy it. Get in as much as you can while the goings good. :)

i had sex up until 3 days before i delivered my first child and he was 10 days past his due date. Its fine so long as your comfortable and your partner isn't putting any weight on your belly. I suggest lying on your side and having him behind or you sort of scissor one leg beneath him while he is upright on his knees. TMI i know, but it works for us and it is very comfortable.
  • I can't wait for my sex drive to return. It's been so long since I've had an orgasm...just being real. But what usually works, just doesn't these past few months. And it isn't dh's fault either. Poor guy. Definitely keep at it!
  • My husband won't touch me while pregnant. After we had sex in the first trimester I had spotting the next day so from that point on he won't do it, even though the doctor said it's okay.

:( That's awful! Hopefully you can do other stuff at least!!!
  • Yay for sex! We are also still having lots of fun :) with lots of pillows, haha
  • I've been told that if you've lost your mucus plus, you shouldn't have sex because it increases your risk for infection. Not sure about the accuracy of this, but may be something to look into!
