A little early, but I'm excited to have a bump for costumes this fall. I prefer the homemade kind, so starting the brainstorming now. DH wants in on it too, so it'll be for the new trio
Any cute ideas out there? Let's hear them ladies...
If I have a cute enough bump by October I think we're gonna have a little fun and do the whole 50's housewife knocked up by the milkman thing.. I usually use Halloween to get a bit sexy so its weird to be going in the opposite direction now lol ETA.. I am a huge Halloween fan so I start thinking of costumes around June. If it was socially as acceptable I'd probably already have decorations out but I'll wait.. till early September )
Im following for ideas because honestly, that seems SOOO far away. I just need to get through the beginning of school and the beginning of college football and then ill be ready for Halloween.
I was just under a month behind where I'll be this year with 2.0 and this is what h and I did. I made my own and added the boy once we found out the week before we were having a girl.
Printed the outline off from online and used fabric paint
I have a few in mind.... I love the belly painting. Possibly a pumpkin, or maybe a full moon with a flying witch silhouette or a cat. Not sure! I do love Mario and Luigi too... My husband and I are full Italian so this fits us!
The baby with arms and legs sticking out is quite disturbing. I really hate that idea!
I did one once (before I was pregnant) where I was in my pj's and a robe with slippers, foam curlers in my hair and makeup on half my face. I said I was a working mom. My office thought it was hilarious
I was thinking maybe doing that with adapting it with a belly, maybe carry a couple baby dolls.
I knew a couple where the pregnant wife dressed up as a man ("beer" belly sticking out of wife-beater style white tank top, trucker hat, mustache, etc) and her thin husband was the wife (dressed in a dress, wig, lipstick). It was adorable for them, but they had the perfect body shapes and baby bump size to pull it off.
I like to do family costumes with DD. First year we did her as a football, DH football player, me cheerleader. Last year I made her an Alice in wonderland costume, DH was mad hatter, and I was Chester(sp?) cat. This year I want DD to be a bee, DH bee keeper, and me/belly as a beehive.
One of my great goth friends is getting married on Halloween. It's a masquerade ball, with Frankenstein and his Bride as the theme. I'm hoping some of my clothes will still fit by then, haha. My amazing goth dresses from high school still fit now, but who knows in October! One's an empire waist so I'm hopeful. Definitely rocking my vampire fangs either way

Halloween is my birthday and I usually go all out and have plans and sewing machines going by now, but TTC this past year has consumed all my time and this post just reminded me how awesome preggo costumes can be! Woo hoo! I love the house wife/ milk man idea, super cute!
We always go to a renaissance faire in October, too, and I definitely won't be corseting this year! haha

Last year we did Zelda, Link, and our daughter was a chicken I haven't seen any outfits that cry out I must have them for our daughter, I may just go the easy route and have us as cats and my husband can go as whatever! Then I can wear whatever is comfortable.
Last year at a Halloween party there was a pregnant girl and she wore a box that was painted to look like and oven and it said "bun in the oven" and her husband wore an apron that said "chef big daddy". I thought it was the cutest thing ever at the time. Now I think it would also be cute if the box opened like an oven and her shirt had a bun on her bump!
I want to dress as a troll with the big jewel in my belly (I'd wear a nude colored shirt) but don't know what to have my husband be. We go to a big costume party every year!

The geek in me totally loves this!!!

Texas Renaissance Festival? I work there (2nd job) every fall. Currently working on squaring away my bump friendly wardrobe. . . (Cropped bodices like Oddbodkin's crop brig, or Moresca's khadijah ftw!)

Some ideas. I find so mAny pregnant costume ideas super creepy... Idk why pregnant people want to have bloody baby parts sticking out of them

I figure I may as well try to get away with it given that this will probably be the last year I can pick their costume.
