You are not alone. I wasn't diagnosed with hyperemis until I was just over 13 weeks. They put me on zofran and it has worked great for me. I lost 18 pounds and severely dehydrated. I would mention to your dr that you are miserable and can't keep water down and see if they can suggest anything.
*i am not a dr or healthcare professional. I'm just tell you what worked for me. Always talk to you dr before taking anything.
Contact your doctor and they will most likely prescribe Zofran or Diclegis, depending on what they think is best. Don't panic, stick to bland foods until you see doc. Stuff like plain white rice, jell-o, apple sauce, tea, plain white toast and such. But I am NOT a Healthcare provider or a professional in the health field. But I hope this helps.
I second the pp to contact your Dr and get a prescription. I have been on Diclegis and it has been my lifesaver. I've been able to function nowadays. It's awful having severe morning sickness. Good luck .
I had morning sickness until I'm 21 weeks. Morning sickness is gone now but having stomach and leg cramps now. I took diclegis and it helped a lot too.
I had hypermesis until I was 19 weeks along I lost 24 pounds and was severely hydrated I even went to the emergency room to get fluids through an IV after 19 weeks I had my first good meal don't worry it will go away and you'll be eating well before you know it.
Hi im 13 weeks my nausea and vomiting have been pretty severe. I was diagnosed with hyperemisis gravidarum at 8 weeks since then ive been to the ER 3 times now to get fluids since I can't keep things down, ive missed so much work they've threatened my job which makes me stressed even more. The only thing keeping me together is my husband. I just hope the hyperemisis ends soon! Diclegis didnt work reglan did for a week now on phenargan or however you spell it. We'll see if that helps.
I lost my job due to sickness. Have been in the ER because of acid issues causing my esophagus to hurt and get inflamed and being dehydrated. Had to get some medications and IV fluids. I take 8mg of zofran a day now and that helps but I still get sick (nowhere near as bad though) I hope you find something that helps you! Also, they first gave me zofran to put under my tongue until it dissolved- it tasted horrible and feeling it under the tongue would make me throw up every time so if you think that's an issue make sure to ask for the pill you can swallow because my OB says they always give the dissolvable ones because it'll get into your system faster and you can't puke it up like you could a pill.
It will get better I promise! I'm 17 weeks now and still have days when I am full on in bed. Not to mention had to be rushed home after 2 days back to work because I was accidently threw up all over my desk and computer! Between 5 weeks and now been to ER 17 times for fluids that said, try citruses they helped me a lot! I was on Diclectin for a bit and have zofran prescription too but honestly strong citrus helped and mint gum. Ur body might also be feeling extremely nausoous because U r hungry it happens without even being pregnant, so eat as much as u can push urself and if u r throwing up at least it's somthing vs nothing at all.
It makes me happy to know that I am not alone. I had been in the ER twice where I was given zofran which helped quite a bit. I did a follow up with my Dr and he prescribed me some diclectin which has helped a TON ! even for when I have heartburn. At 18 weeks now I still feel nauseous but thankfully no where near to that point again. My Dr also told me how to make my own glucose which is what they give you at the hospital to rehydrate you quickly. So instead of going to the emergency room you guys can try this.
A glass of water Lemon juice Sugar And a pinch of salt
*** do not chug this down it needs to be taken in casual sips in order for it to absorb into your body **** this is how my Dr told me to drink it . I put two levelled table spoons of sugar and eyed out the lemon and it really does work. Let me know if amyone tries this out.
