Update #3 - In Labor. Freaked out.

The doctors have finally agreed to let this mama head home. Of course, I can't do much of anything. After four days of labor, my stomach muscles hurt so bad I can barely sit up. They want me to take it easy and stay off my feet as much as possible. Between not doing much and the medications, they are hoping to buy me 2  - 3 weeks before baby makes his debut. So glad to head home. but definitely. I was planning to finish painting the nursery Sunday afternoon, but went into labor. So my kid has a half painted room with nothing it. That meltdown was why the doctors agreed to let me come home actually. To get here and get everything together that we need before he comes.... Should be an interesting couple of weeks!

Re: Update #3 - In Labor. Freaked out.

  • Glad to hear an update and so happy that you are doing well (aside from the pain!) and baby has more time to cook in there!  Try not to stress about the nursery.  Baby will probably be hanging out closer to your side in the beginning so you really don't need to have the nursery ready ahead of time.  Just focus on taking care of yourself.

  • I'm glad to hear that you're going home! Please take it easy, and don't overdo it! If the nursery isn't finished before your baby makes his debut, it's okay! I'll keep you and baby boy in my thoughts. :)

Let DH and loved ones handle the physical stuff and you focus on relaxing and growing your baby!

  • That is great news!
Sounds like you have baby shopping spree in your future. ;)
  • My wonderful parents are coming this week to help Dh finish painting the nursery and to paint the dresser that I had sanded. My biggest concern is i have bought nothing...No diapers, no wipes, no nursing bras or pads, no diaper bag. Seriously. I bought the paint for the nursery, put a shelf in the closet, and a friend brought the dresser.... Poor kid. He doesn't even have a name....
Glad to hear you are headed home! Send your parents or hubby out to buy some emergency stuff! You don't need much in the beginning and for what you can't go out to buy - there is AMAZON!

  • Yay for going home! Don't worry about a thing and take it easy! Let online shopping soothe your soul :)
  • I am so happy for you and your LO! No one wants to go through that experience, but it sounds like you are in good care. I definitely agree with others on encouraging you to do very little. Relax, put your feet up, find a good book, binge watch some Netflix, shop on Amazon, become a resident regular poster on any and every board that suits your interest, etc. Just do what you can to let that baby grow in your belly as long as he'll stay! You're doing a great job already, mama!

Amazon prime has free trials, too! 30 days for a regular membership, 6 months free if you're a student, if I remember correctly. :)
  • So excited for you and baby (still in the womb! Even better!) to be headed home! Everything will get done. And if his room isn't finished before he arrives? So what! The most important thing for you to do is listen to the doctors and take it easy to give baby the best chance to stay put for as long as possible! Just breathe and let others help you do what needs to be done.
