Phenergan at 6 weeks. Advice please!

Ive been super nauseated and can't eat anything. I have maybe had a couple sips of fluid and a few crackers to eat since yesterday afternoon. I called my OB and they prescribed me phenergan. I'm so nervous to take anything while pregnant, especially being only 6 weeks! I feel like I should just suck it up for a few weeks before turning to medication but I literally feel awful. Any advice or reassurance would be great! Thanks!

  • If you want to try something that has worked for me this time around that's homeopathic, try Sepia 30c .  I asked my midwife for Zofran because the nausea has been awful this time around and found out they're no longer recommending to pregnant women because of higher risk of heart defects in the babies.  So a naturepath told us about this and I use 2 pellets every time I feel the nausea coming on.  And it's working.  You can also try Unisom and B6 (it worked my second pregnancy but hasn't really touched this pregnancy).

  • I have found that ginger chews have worked a treat. I have one each time I get the onset (at least 5 times a day!). I picked them up after chatting to a pharmacist. Hope you find something that makes it manageable, I forgot how horrible it is xx
  • Unisom and B6 are what my OB recommended if you have really bad MS they only prescribe harder stuff if those don't work.  Good luck and feel better.  I hate taking anything while pregnant so I understand your apprehension.

Unisom and B6 are considered Class A during pregnancy so very safe to take and have worked well for me.
