Baby hiccups.

I noticed LO gets hiccups often and its usually after feeding (breast or bottle and in different positions). They sometimes last up to 5 min. I have it written down to bring it up to his pediatrician tomorrow, but I was curious if any of your LO's got frequent hiccups as an infant.

  • Did your baby have them a lot in the womb too? I've had them a lot over the last week. Doc said if they have hiccups in the womb, they will likely have them as a newborn too.
  • My son had them daily in utero, and they continued after he was born :) when he was a bit older gripe water helped some but otherwise he just grew out of it. They are totally normal and very very common.

  • I haven't felt them yet. Before its all over I want to feel hiccups and a big roll. All I get is kicking and jabs to the vag.

Not sure how she'll be like out of the womb, but in the womb, she hiccups like crazy. Maybe 4 or 5 times a day lasting quite a while. My ob had said it's very normal for fetuses and babies in general to get frequent hiccups.
  • DD had them constantly when I was pregnant with her and had them several times per day for a few months after she was born. I noticed that giving her a paci or the breast would make them go away.
  • This LO gets them everyday! Sometimes 2-3 times! (In utero)
  • I was wondering this too. My daughter gets them after every time she eats. She did get them a lot in the womb too.
  • Yes my daughter has them quite often after feedings. :) I think it's fairly common
  • In a newborn class I took, they said its a reflex and doesn't bother them like it would us and not to worry about it.

This! Mine had hiccups allllll the time!
  • DS1 had them ALOT while in the womb. Now when he laughs to much or gets excited he will get the hiccups, sometimes causing him to puke but he's 3 now. So I just know when to stop tickling or being so funny ;) this one gets them atleast once a day to.
  • Thanks ladies.

This. Omg and they would last so long. I remember praying after feeding DS those first few days for him not to get them. I wanted to sleep so bad and they kept him awake!

I'll trade you! I find the hiccups disturbing and the rolls make me nauseous. I feel like there is an alien in my body. I don't know if I've felt an actually kick yet. I've heard you can almost see their little foot print when they kick you hard enough.
