Bath water temperature at 39.2 weeks?

so I'm thinking I'm going to try taking a bath just to ease my aching body and relax! Have not done this yet during pregnancy… I remember hearing early on it's not good to have a hot bath is that still the case this late in the game?

  • You can take a bath, but just not so hot that you have to ease yourself in, if I'm remembering correctly.....

Looks like no more than 100 degrees...maybe I will use my meat thermometer to check...thanks @marymoore711
  • My midwife actually told us that so long as you aren't scalding yourself you can really have as hot of a bath as you want. Unlike a hot tub, the water begins cooling immediately so it won't stay at that hot temperature for long. That being said she also said you need to try to avoid it being so hot that you are getting sweaty or sticky but most people avoid that anyway as it isn't super comfortable.

Yes thanks @Savanna111911 it would be uncomfortable especially since it's going to be 90° today and feels like it's already close to 80 here in Denver Colorado… At least we do have a very dry heat here though
  • I have taken baths throughout and have had no problems. I hate showers and wasn't giving up my soak time. Just make them lukewarm and use relaxing oils like lavender and Epsom salts.
