dumb fall question : reassurance provided... All clear ... Nothing to see here

The issue with falling while pregnant is more for when we are further along and if we hit our stomachs right? (I warned you dumb) I was carrying my daughter to bed and I trip and fell flat on my bottom hard... No reason to spend the whole night with my stomach in knots and googling right? Just watch for spotting or pain?

    Lurker from Dec. Yes, falling is an issue when you're further along and the baby had popped out from the pelvis area. Right now baby is very cushioned, and if you're not cramping and bleeding, then you're fine.

    This is what I thought , my husband has been sweet enough to ask me 15 dozen times if the baby and I are okay .... Which is what made me nervous. Thanks a million for the reassurance

    This scares me after the Downton Abbey episode where Cora is pregnant, then slips and falls getting out of the tub and has a miscarriage. 

    In her case it was probably a bad fall, and just a coincidence (she was on the older side).  Also, Downton Abbey is not real.

    In the movie "Riding in Cars with Boys," Drew Barrymore's character gets pregnant as a teen and wants a miscarraige, so she repeatedly throws herself down a staircase.  Then has a healthy baby.  Also not real, but some reassurance!

    btw I just wanted to say I don't think it is a dumb question. Sometimes reassurance is needed!

    Even further along, baby has some of cushion floating in the amniotic fluid. I fell down a half flight of stairs when I was 34w with my first babe, and although we all kind of freaked out, baby was fine. I still wanted to get checked out, and the doctor was very reassuring that unless it was a serious fall on my belly, everything was likely fine. I'm all about reassurance though - no dumb questions. Please pat my hand and tell me everything will be okay :)

    Probably nothing to worry about but if you need some peace of mind, then don't be afraid to call your doctor to ask.  They are used to questions and checking you out if it's needed.
