Once I was taking up to 6 Tums daily, my dr told me to switch to Prilosec. It has been absolutely amazing. Don't let yourself suffer. All of my symptoms are completely controlled now.

Ask your doc! My husband is a physician and warned me early on about some of the acid reducers having too much calcium- check to see what pregnancy category the drug is and decide what you are comfortable with... I was not willing to risk the tums like drugs...
My Dr. gave me an rx for an acid reducer and I take 2 tums before bed. The best tricks I've found so far is to eat a light, bland dinner and go for a walk after to help move things through and to sleep propped up on a bean bag chair.
I take Zantac 75 once a day, twice if it's really bad. And I avoid tomatoes and tomato-based foods (they make it much worse for me). Doc said Zantac is completely fine to take
Zantac! You can take it as prevention first thing in the morning and as a rescue med when your reflux flares up. Can take up to 300 mg daily. This is what my OB prescribed.
Thanks everyone. Tums aren't doing the trick lately. For some reason my heartburn only occurs at night whether I'm propped up or not. I think I will give Zantac a try. I'm a dental professional and have a hard time chewing up tums at 230 in the morning and going back to sleep without brushing. So maybe Zantac will give me back that hour of sleep.

My advice is to skip Zantac and go straight to Prilosec. Worked WONDERS for me!
For anyone skeptical about taking medication while pregnant, I drink Braggs Raw apple cider vinegar drinks. They come in different flavors. My favorite is grape. Instantly helps my heartburn.
