subchorionic hemorrhage update

Hi ladies. I'm pregnant with my fourth baby. On Saturday after going to a museum with my family I started bleeding excessily. I went straight to the ER and was told I had a threatened miscarriage due to a sub chorionic hemorrhage. The DR said my baby had a 50/50 chance. Of course I was devastated. I was on pelvic rest until I heard otherwise from my ob. I had a apt Tuesday and the baby is healthy with a HB of 158. My ob also told me I had a less than 5% chance of miscarrying. I'm ok especially because the bleeding stopped entirely. I just wanted to update and say how grateful I am. All I want is a healthy baby and completely see why sex of the baby is the least thing that's important. My EDD is officially February 8th and my next appt is in 4 weeks.

I'm glad everything is ok! I think that ER doctor didn't know what they were talking about and shouldn't have scared you with their 50/50 statistic!

I read this article about a study that says subchorionic hematomas do not increase your miscarriage risk.

I have this problem too but I am still spotting every once in a while. I'm 10w3d. My dr told me I'm still trying to miscarry but I know the Good Lord ain't going to let it happen. I have been on "bed rest" since 6weeks.

@ss456 I honestly think so too. She literally had me thinking at any day I would miscarry. Even my ob told me no way it's not 50/50. So I'm definitely glad I got to see my ob and she reassured me everything is ok. I'm still trying to take it easy but I'm not having anxiety every second now.

@Momof3m I'm sorry Hun. I hope everything is ok. Honestly I thought I did miscarry the day I was bleeding. I can literally say it looked like a crime scene. I bled so much and I bled for hours. But that was all from the hemorrhage. I did stop bleeding so that's why my ob wasn't too concerned by the time I saw her. We did do an ultrasound as well and she said everything looked good. I also bled right after going to a museum (a lot of walking) and I was carrying my youngest for a while. From what I have read it depends where the hemorrhage is, how big it is, how much your bleeding, if it shrinks etc. Did your ob put you in bed rest? I'm assuming she did because you were so early.
