Learned how to put my baby to sleep!! I put him on my chest and once he gets into a deep sleep I can set him back down in pack n play. It's an awesome feeling to know I did it myself!!
I've been exclusively pumping and supplementing with formula since 1.5 weeks. Well, my supply is finally meeting my little ones needs and he hasn't had any formula since last Monday! Plus, I finally have a little surplus and I'm feeling so much more relaxed. It was so stressful not knowing what my son's next meal would be and I'm really glad I stuck with the pumping. Nearly six weeks in and I finally feel like I have the hang of it. I even pumped on an airplane earlier this week!

I wish my little guy would do this! He has some sort of sixth sense when he knows he's no longer being held. As soon as I pull him away from my chest he starts fussing, even if he's been sleeping for a while. He's started holding onto my shirt or my hair as a security to know he's still being held. And if he's down and starts crying, he'll stop as soon as our hands are under his body to lift him up. Sneaky little guy!

@ashtownyeah - have you tried putting LO down with an article of clothing you're wearing? I've literally taken my shirt off and put it next to DS when I lay him down. It's worked every time. Might be worth a try for you!
I'm also exclusively pumping but still having to supplement about half. Would you mind sharing how you were successful? I'm pumping at least 6 tines a day. I know more pumping would produce more but I find it very difficult to pump when she's awake. She normally only naps twice a day one of which is a mini nap. Thanks!
I am starting to get LO on some type of schedule so I get a little bit of time to myself at night. Last night she was in bed at 9 and I got some work done on her baby book.

For a while I aimed to pump 8-10/day. I'm now doing 6/day.
The biggest help has been massage and hand expression ... Google that and you'll find a video from Standford University. Do you have a hands free pumping bra? That is a huge help! I have the Lansinoh and it works just fine with my Medella Pump In Style.
Each of my pump sessions are pretty long, lasting about 30-45 minutes. I try to get two more let downs after the initial "flow" to make sure I'm getting hind milk and fore milk.
I've also been using the Earth Mama milk drops, making some lactation smoothies and drinking lots of water and coconut water (big booster for me!).
I also had a lot of success with power pumping. You pump like normal, then take a 20 minute break. Pump again fro 5-10 minutes. Then another 20 minute break. And pump again for 5-10 minutes. You don't have to clean your pump parts in between and you can get in 2 more pumping sessions in your day. I found taking a shower in between these sessions helped me get more milk out and also was a way for me to multitask!
Also, any skin to skin you can do with your little one will also help your supply.
I just woke up from a nap I took sitting up in our leather chair with DS in a Bjorn on my chest & DD laying on my legs. Who hoo! One leg is asleep and my neck feels all crampy but otherwise feeling all refreshed.
Even thought it was only half an hour I got my daughter to sleep in her crib woooooo better success story is I finally understand her so it isn't so hard anymore I know when to put her asleep play and feed
I love this thread! My victory this week is that I FINALLY finished all of the baby paperwork (birth certificate, insurance, health forms etc) that I have been procrastinating for weeks. Just didn't seem to have the brain power or motivation before but it feels so much better to have it done now!
For the past 3 days DS has gone to sleep within 5 minutes of me holding him. No more 30 minute rocking and shushing sessions. I think we are past the super fussy stage (he's 8.5 weeks)!!!
My daughter and I have inside jokes. She loves it when I make eye contact and say "weeoooweeoooweeooo!" I told DH and he tried it and she just turned and looked at me like "Daddy doesn't get it."

I was so happy when we got over that hump. See! It really does get easier!

What did you do to increase your supply? I am about 50/50 BM and formula and I feel like I only have a little more time until my supply is going to be permanantly low.

How was pumping on the plane? Did you do it in your seat? I'm asking because I just booked tickets for DH, LO and I to go on a trip, which will be about 6 hours of travel time each way, and am starting to wonder how I can work with pumping on the trip. I usually use a sports bra that I cut small holes in to create a hands free bra (I have heard negative things about the medela one...), but I have to take everything off to put that on, and I don't know how I will be able to do that on a plane. I'm thinking I might need to cave in and get a hand free bra style that has clasps and can be put on without taking my shirt off, but I still am worried that it will be a huge ordeal to pump while 30,000 feet in the air.
Pat on the back accomplishment: we moved LO into her own room on Saturday night, and I haven't snuck up there to sleep in the room with her once! She has been sleeping through the night for a few weeks now, and she is outgrowing her bassinet, so it was time to transition her to her own room.
My success: DH and I went on a date last night and had a babysitter for DS. This was my first time being away from him for longer than half hour (and with anyone other than DH). I only checked in once on our video monitor. Fortunately for me it was during the 15 minutes that he actually slept for the sitter, so I was much more relaxed. Then I came home to find out that was the only time he slept and he was still awake at 9:15 when bedtime is 7. But that's okay!! At least DH and I got dinner out just the two of us

Reposting from earlier for ya!

It was a little intimidating, but necessary! lol, our travel was prob about 10 hours door to door. I pumped in the airport bathroom before boarding the plane, and luckily we had a whole row to ourselves so my husband could hold DS and sort of block the aisle for me to pump on the plane.
I have a nursing cover that I put on first, then slid my pumping bra on, and then hooked em up! I use the Lansinoh hands free bra and it works just fine with my Medella Pump In Style (I had heard bad things about the Medella bra, too!). I have a battery pack for my pump, and I also got the Medella travel wipes for pump parts and bottles to clean everything when I was finished.
The biggest thing is to be confident ... You've done it dozens of times before so this is no different. I would have no worries of breastfeeding my baby on a plane, but that isn't an option for us and this is what I have to do to feed my son.
@ashtownyeah Thanks so much for the response! I'm hoping that we also get the row to ourselves, the seats that I chose didn't have another occupant next to them yet, but you never know. I think I have decided to use my single pump, instead of my In Style, mainly because it is lighter, and also because then I only have to worry about keeping one side covered at a time. I know my In Style is like 100x faster, but I'm gonna be on a plane for 4 hours, so what's 45 minutes of pumping instead of 20?! Haha. I just have to keep telling myself not to care, that I have to feed my baby one way or the other, and BF'ing isn't an option for us as well.
DD slept at 1:28 am today! That hasn't happened since she was about 3 weeks and she used to nap every 40 mins of so anyway so not really sleep, her average bedtime has been 4 Am for about a month now! I'm not sure if it's what i'm doing or just her naturally catching up to day and night differences but i'm happy none the less.
Only problem is i'm having a hard time falling asleep even though i'm dead tired! Lol
