Baby swing

I'm still looking for a good swing for baby, what worked best for you? One that rocked head to toe, or side to side? I would like one that does both but they take up more room that we currently have.

Re: Baby swing

  • My DD was so not picky, she liked either way. I have three swings for my house and they all do different things. If you're limited on space the Mamaroo by 4 Moms is pretty small and can do it all. It's a little on the pricy side but you can find them used.

  • We were going to get that one but we thought that the more expensive one did both motions but it just did different styles of side to side. And the other one... Why pay that much when you can get a cheaper one to do the same thing? Lol
  • Only have experience with the head to toe swinging motion swings and they've always been a hit. We got a very small portable swing Bc we have a very tiny apartment and it fits perfectly in the small space.
  • DS was not picky- we have a head/toe style and will use it again. Try and borrow if you are not sure

I have the cheaper one too because I got a Target gift card late in the game and had nothing really to spend it on. I like the cheaper one because I can move it around really easily because it's small and really light. With DD I had the cheaper one and the snuggapuppy fisher price one, so I used the cheaper 4moms swing upstairs. It was nice to be able to put in the bathroom when I needed a shower or in my room if I needed a nap, etc.

The Mamaroo I just got from my sister so I haven't played with it much yet.
  • My advice is get one that plugs into wall vs batteries.

^this! I highly recommend one that plugs in. We would have been putting batteries in constantly otherwise because DD loved her swing!
