Re: AMA labor, delivery and birth

  • I've heard that after you deliver the nurse will come in and push on your stomach to prevent clots or something to that extent and it's just as painful as giving birth. Is this true? If it needs to be done then by all means do it, but is really as painful as labor?

  • They do push on your stomach to make sure everything is coming out that needs to, but it didnt hurt as much as labor to me.. though it wasnt comfortable.

  • Well that's a relief! I've heard horror stories but I'm sure it's not that bad. Thanks!
  • I don't remember being pushed on at all so it either didn't hurt at all or it didn't happen with me.

To me it felt like pushing on a sore muscle really hard.
The first time they came to move my uterus back to place and make sure it's all shrinking back I was still having major adrienaline do it didn't bother me too badly.
After that they give you some pain meds (if you choose to take them) and that helped a lot with the discomfort.
