STM's how long did you wait? A nurse told me at least 6 weeks, but my midwife said whenever I felt ready. Just wondering if anyone did it before the recommended 6 weeks and it felt okay, or if they wished they had waited longer?

I waited the 6 weeks to see my OB, she looked at my stitches and recommended another 4 weeks, which was ffiiinnnneeee by me, sex was the last thing I wanted.

It was approx 3 weeks with DS, 4 weeks with DD1, and 4.5 weeks with DD2. Maybe I'm silly but I like to get that first time back in the saddle over and done with.

Lol I waited 2 weeks after first baby, 5 days after second baby and 2 days after third baby. Everything was very gentle and super emotional. I think I'll wait longer than 2 days after this one! It's just soooo nice to have sex and be close again without a giant bowling ball inbetween us, I was impatient!

Wow! You ladies are brave. I waited the 6 weeks. There was no way I was attempting sex before then. Really I would've waited even longer but I felt bad for my husband.

I was truthfully told to wait 6 weeks, but would jave been fine with longer, except i felt bad for DH. There is an open wound there. I figure if im not allowed to sit in a bath, i should still wait on sex

After my c-section, I was told 6-8 weeks. I felt ready to go at about 4 weeks post partum though and went for it. I was much younger then (15 years ago), so I'm not sure how I will feel this time around. I suppose if you feel good, stopped bleeding, and have healed well there is no reason not to give it a go. Gently, of course!

I went with my Dr.'s recommendations and will do the same with this one. 6 weeks. For me, it's better to be safe than sorry.

I can't imagine sex before the 6 weeks...2 days? I had a vaginal delivery and was still self conscious with stuff coming out of me and all.. I will be waiting the 6 weeks again this time around. My lady parts need time to heal properly, you only get one set of parts! I assume I will earn my BJ queen title again during the hiatus. Lol

Waited 6 weeks the first time and 4 weeks the second time. I should have waited longer the second time. It felt a little loose down there. LOL

Waited 6wks after #1 and maybe 9 months after #2??? I can't remember. I was terrified of getting pregnant again after #2 until he was 11 months old.

I had strict orders from dr to wait until she cleared me at 6 weeks. At 6 weeks I still wasn't healed completely from my episiotomy and she had me wait another 3 weeks.

I was told to wait for 6 weeks. We had sex exactly at the 6 weeks mark.
I don't think I would have done it anytime before that. It was suprisingly enjoyable. Even though at first I thought he would open my tear up. Just nervous. even though I was good and healed. It was also was nice to get it over with to know that life was getting back to normal in lots of ways.
you'll know when you're ready. Don't rush it or don't let anyone rush you.

I waited 8 weeks. I think I was physically fine, but definitely taking one for the team. I felt like breastfeeding made my drive go out the window.

My episiotomy didn't heal correctly so it was a long 9 months of waiting for us. I have friends who felt up to it at 2 weeks, though!

I waited 6 weeks and got cleared by the doctor but I didn't feel ready until 8 weeks or so. I was very nervous and it was painful the first time. But then after that we had the best sex of our marriage, hence our second pregnancy when DD was only 7 months old

I was dying to go by 5 1/2 weeks but my DH is the kind that if the doctor says no sex for 6 weeks, 2 days, 4 hours, 30 minutes, and 15 seconds: you better believe you aren't seeing hide nor hair of his pickle until probably closer to 7 weeks to "be on the safe side". It's annoying but I'm kinda glad someone uses their head in this house

As for how it felt,. I felt looser for a few months as I was still healing, it does go back to normal but it definitely takes longer than 6 weeks, but it wasn't painful for us at all.. Which is what I expected it to do after hearing all types of horror stories. Lol. My DH has me on pelvic rest until I see the doctor today because he's convinced it's not ok to have sex.. *face palm*. I told him there's no way he will keep me from it for 10 more weeks.. The mans willpower!! Ugh. Lol. I'm glad he cares so much and does at least listen to the doctors about waiting 6 weeks. But it sure gets frustrating when you have crazy mommy hormones and you watch your husband lovingly coo over your children.. Warning ladies: it's panty dropping material. Nothing is sexier than watching your husband be a father.

I waited until I was cleared at 6 weeks. I was still very nervous due to my c section incision, but DH was so ready I gave in. It was not truly enjoyable for a few more weeks.

I waited the full 6 weeks as i had stitches and my doctor made me wait another 2 weeks after that. Then I waited another week because each time we tried it hurt like hell. It felt better after a few tries, but my drive was way low because I was exhausted. Everyone is different. I know people who were at it in 2-3 weeks. Just beware, more than one of those people was prego within a month...OUCH

I will wait til I get the ok from the dr and I get my birth control going. I can't wait to have the intimate time with my boyfriend again but I know it will probably hurt in the beginning and I don't want to get pregnant again right away so I'll wait.

I was cleared at 6 weeks but had zero desire. I think I bit the bullet around 8 or 10 weeks.

I could be making this up, but I swear my doctor instructed nothing inserted into the vagina for 6 weeks to avoid risking an infection. The cervix takes awhile to close and start doing it's regular job again. Of course I also picked up an infection while in labor, so maybe my postpartum instructions were different. I also had a small tear with stitches to let heal. So all that coupled with zero desire kept me following doctor's orders.

I thought I should clarify I had all vaginal births but no tearing with any. I'm a horn dog what can I say. My midwife said it was up to me... I will make myself wait longer than two days this time! My husband was super nervous and careful and was only trying to please me and tried to talk me out of it. Def don't do anything you don't feel comfortable doing! Let yourself heal

As much as I LOVE sex... I'm waiting 6 weeks till I go back to the Dr and get me some birth control and him a box of condons till he gets fixed! I'm not doing this again! No way! One and done!

We tried at 4 weeks but even though I had a c-section it was super uncomfortable in my lady parts so we stopped and it was closer to 6weeks before we tried again and it felt good.
