    1. Was your doctor worried?? What did she say?

    2. Was it via doppler or u/s?

If it was via doppler, that's not unusal at all, if you read through past threads you will see lots of concern over doppler innaccuracies. If it was via u/s and your doctor did not SEE or FIND a heartbeat, then yes that is worrisome. What would be more worrisome is if your doctor then didn't explain to you what was going on. I am suspecting this was via doppler.

  • It was a droopler. I have an ultrasound on Friday. She told me the pregnancy is pretty young so it would be hard to find the heartbeat and no she did not seem worried and told me not to either but I can't help it. It was my first appointment and I was hoping to hear something. #Worried
  • If your doctor told you not to worry then you should do your best to listen to the advice of your medical professional. Easier said than done but your U/S is in 2 days and they will be able to see a heartbeat there.

Yeah, I would just try and remain calm and positive until your ultrasound. Dopplers are often times not successful or can take like 30 minutes to find the heart beat. Lots of women in the early stages of pregnancy have tilted uteruses which make it even more difficult to spot baby.. Also your doctor really has no idea where to look because babies hide all over the place. Stay positive.
  • Thanks a lot ladies.
  • Chiming in late but it's not uncommon to be unable to find it. They're still really tiny! I'm glad you have an ultrasound soon. I'm sure everything will be fine, but sending good thoughts your way. KUP.

  • My doctor couldn't find his heart beat at 14 weeks with a doopler. She did an US just to see if everything was okay and turns out he was a lot higher than normal and bouncing so much she couldn't catch him. :x
  • Definitely stay calm if the doctor thought something was wrong they would have done an u/s right then or sent you to the er so positive thoughts mama
