I've noticed that we have quite a few ladies diagnosed with cholestasis and figured we could do a check in. 1. How far along are you? 2. How are you dealing with the itch? 3. Anything else you want to share.
1. 35w5d 2. Trying not to scratch too much. 3. I have had cholestasis in my previous 3 pregnancies. I am being monitored for it in this pregnancy but despite starting to get the tell tale itching, my labs are still coming back low enough to not have to be induced.
I also wanted to encourage the ladies with cholestasis who have already delivered to share their experiences.
35w 6 days and cool wash clothes oatmeal bathes... Itching like mad... Super crabby! Just waiting for my most recent labs to come back to see if my little squishy gets here this week
1. 37 weeks 4 days 2. Antihistamine Prescription, still itchy but it takes the edge off. I also try to keep cool and shower everyday and moisturize! 3. When I first went to get checked out for Cholestasis, my regular doctor was on vacation. The doctor I saw absolutely scared the bajesus out of my husband and I with talk of being induced ASAP and just generally freaking us out! I saw another doctor who wasn't as concerned since little one is doing great. I finally saw my doctor yesterday, and she put my minf at ease! Fortunately, I will be aloud to go full term and let little girl come at her own pace. I have to go for weekly checks just to keep an eye on her, but it's good to know an early induction is not your only option!
1. 35 w 4d 2. Itching like crazy the last week, it had gotten better with the urso. 3. Waiting for bile acids from Sunday to come back and liver test from today and they will decide if they're inducing me earlier than planned (August 4th). Also having issues with blood pressure, feeling dizzy, right upper quadrant pain, etc. I'm going back and forth of wanting her out now so she is safe, but know that wvery day she's in help her lungs develop. If has been a rough few days with doctor appointments and being in L&D twice for monitoring.
@KaylaLovesNoah, after all the research I've done and recommendations from regular ob and high risk ob, I would worry about not inducing earlier. Not trying to panic you, but there are risks for baby to going to 40 weeks. Hopefully you are at least on Urso.
