February 2016 Moms

Dating question

went for my NFT and baby was measuring 2 days bigger from first ultrasound. The sonographer said they don't change edd since they really have a window of 2 weeks before edd and 2 weeks after. But, just for my purposes, do you think I should be telling people the due date is now Jan 31st (what baby measured on most recent ultrasound) or Feb 2nd (what dr. originally gave).

Re: Dating question

  • I personally just say "February." I assume the baby won't come on the due date anyway so I certainly wouldn't change what I say for two days, but that's just me.

  • I wouldn't change it. Plus it's an estimate and after 12 weeks baby tends to grow on it's own curve.
  • They say the most accurate is the earliest u/s and since that's what they will keep on your chart I would go with that.

I'd say don't change it. My daughter's due date was was Aug 25th but she measured Aug. 10th my entire pregnancy. She was born Aug. 28th which was exhausting when the drs had me thinking August 10th
  • I have heard to not change it unless it's 7 days or more difference. Since you're so early it could change more than once and you would be changing your Edd every month
  • ^^ what she said. My ultrasound was 2 days off, but we aren't changing the date.
  • Cool - thanks guys!
I like the sound of 2/2 better than 1/31 anyway :)
I'm 12/12 so it reminds me of my Bday a bit

I would go off of the original estimate :)

I totally thought this was about dating a guy! I agree, don't change it.

    BFP 6/15 /15 Due: 2/25/16

  • I'm going with the latest possible option (2/13) just so I can keep my spirits up if I go past my "due date".

  • Keep the due date you want. Nobody but you will ever know what the "doctor" due date is. When I first calculated my EDD I was due on Leap Day and when I went in for my first US the baby was actually measuring right on track for a February 29th arrival and the dummy doctor put March 2 on my chart even though I was measuring on track for 2-29. I plan on keeping my unique Leap Day due date and you should keep your 2-2!

Totally had my popcorn ready for this one haha
  • I totally thought you were going to say you started dating someone and that you needed to tell them that you were pregnant! Guess I need to go watch The Back-up Plan!
  • Omg that would have been waaay more interesting. I'm really sorry to disappoint ;)

  • Keep your original. When I was pregnant with my twins they always measured a few days off from eachother and anywhere between 3d-7d ahead of my due date.

Imagine how silly I would have sounded if I kept changing it "baby a is due mar 30 and baby b is due April 4!" Lol
