Neck/upper back pain, worried

I'm having some pain on the left side of my neck and shoulder-blade area. It feels like I pulled a muscle. I'm almost 5 weeks. I'm a bit over-worried about an ectopic pregnancy because my mom had two after I was born. Could this be the shoulder pain mentioned in those symptoms? I've had a bit of brown spotting, lots of gas, but no cramps I've noticed. My first appt/ultrasound isn't for about a month.

    Hi fishstick,

    I just wanted to let you know that that pain would typically be in your right shoulder.

    On Friday I woke up with right shoulder pain and thought, like you, that I was having an ectopic. I freaked out and am scheduled for an US today HOWEVER, the pain went away by Sunday. I have had no bleeding or any abdominal pain and my OB says you would have that first.
    The reason for the shoulder pain is internal bleeding...which would typically cause pain before it hits your shoulder.

    However, I am not a DR. Just sharing my experience. If you call your OB they will at least schedule you for blood work.

    I expressed my concerns to my nurse and I'm going to have some blood work done. Hopefully everything is okay.
