Dr sent me to ER

after having rectal bleeding and constipation for three weeks my midwife sent me to primary care who sent me to the ER as I was having severe off and on stabbing pain in my right side...has anyone experienced this? Waiting at the ER now hoping it's not appendicitis.

Keep us updated! Prayers to you! hope you feel better!
  • I had appendicitis as a child and it hurt so bad, I couldn't move. My mom knew something was wrong with my "tummy ache" (I was 4) when I wouldn't move from the couch for anything. I don't know how bad your pain is, but if it's appendicitis, it is debilitating pain and I can't even imagine going through it right now!! Hoping it's not!! I'll be thinking of you and the LO.

  • Based on your limited description it's probably not an appy. I would imagine the constipation and what I suspect are hemorrhoids are to blame. Definitely miserable either way. Hope you get some answers and relief soon!
  • 3 weeks ago i had this very bad pain on my right side i couldnt barely move , i was vomiting , sweating it was terrible , i went to the er and they sent me back thinking it was probably something i ate because my cervix was close ,the baby was doing great, they did a preterm test it came back negative , they couldnt find anything so during the midnight i knew something was wrong the pain was even worse so i went back ,they gave me pain pills and did a ultrasound and a blood test , the blood test shown that my white cells was very elevated , & the ultrasound shown that my appendix was about to ruptured and they send me straight to the operation room , i was super scared &i didnt want nothing to happen to the baby but i had to do what was best, after the surgery i asked for the baby and the baby was perfectly fine & was even moving after surgery it did hurt when he moved but i was so happy he was in there &doing great , i lasted two days at the hospital and they were monitoring me & baby, they did such a good Job and now after 3 weeks i feel brand new & baby continues to do great , they told me is just a risk during operation but not after , is actually the most common surgery while pregnant , but make sure before you leave the Er that they had checked everything so it wont happen like it did with me that they sent me home & realize the second time ,hopefully is not your appendix but everything will be fine , will pray for you and baby .
  • So weird. The dr I saw sent me to ER for an IV to wait for the earliest ultrasound at 3 because I couldn't eat or drink and was already light headed. That ER dr did a urine test and said I'm fine and discharged me even after Me telling him what my dr had wanted and even after my dr had ordered an ultrasound etc because of my pain levels this morning. I couldn't move or talk during the stabbing pain in my right side. I haven't since had the pain that bad but my dr wanted to make sure it was nothing serious. I'm currently back at my original dr office trying to get rescheduled for an ultrasound. I've now not eaten or drnk anything sink 5am. I'm so frustrated and my dr is pissed they never gave me an IV or did blood tests etc.
  • So, I had extreme right side pain two weeks ago. I went from extreme right side pain to sweating and vomitting. Went to labor and delivery because I h I wanted to check on the baby and they hooked me up did some test and I had a kidney infection, kidney stones and bladder infection. A couple days of antibiotics and some pain meds and I felt brand new! Let us know what happens, praying you feel better soon!
  • Blood tests showed elevated white blood cell count as well as elevated monos. It also showed I am anemic which my dr said is likely from all of the rectal bleeding I have been having over the past 3 weeks. Now I can't get in for an ultrasound as the ER dr canceled it after doing just a urine and discharging me which was super confusing since I was supposed to be there for an IV to wait for my ultrasound. Yay got to love hospitals and their incompetent chaos!
  • Btw it was my primary care dr who sent me for blood tests after the ER said it wasn't necessary. The ER dr also told me not to worry about the rectal bleeding I've been having for the past 3 weeks. My primary said what?!?! And said that is what is causing me to be anemic. Sorry just venting about the fact I was at the hospital since 9 am and nothing but back and forth chaos was accomplished.
