Hips & back pain

Does anyone have any tips on how to relieve lower back and hip pain? I'm currently at 35 weeks and around my hips on my back feel as if they are going to explode! Even when lying down.

Searching this topic- everything I'm finding, I'm already trying, and it isn't helping... Bump!!

  • Ha. I totally wish I had the answer because I am in the same boat... I do hot pads often and swim a lot. It does help with pain really but decreases the pressure
  • Yes. Chiropractor. Find one that specializes in pregnancy. You don't have to be in pain, get an adjustment!
  • Sitting on a yoga ball has helped relieve the pressure for me. I also have a support band that lets me take walks without pain again.

Prenatal yoga is great for hip and back pain as well helping prepare you for labor
  • Stretching and walking / movement throughout the day. I mean it could honestly be the position of baby so not sure if this will help. I also sit in a yoga-like pose while on the sofa in the evenings (knees bent with feet tucked close to my thighs touching each other...I'm sure there's a name for it). "Downward facing" dog also helps a lot!

But seriously walking a lot at work has helped a lot with this. Thankful I have a job where I'm on my feet 95% of the time. Every body is different though. Hope you find some relief.

Chiropractor has saved me this pregnancy
  • If your hips are aching at night, try adding an extra pillow between your legs- I've been sleeping with a snoogle but it is a few years old and has flattened a bit so I tried adding another pillow last night and it made a huge difference.
  • Prenatal massage
