Need advice on breastfeeding

This is my first baby, and she's due within the next 2 weeks. I really don't know a ton about breastfeeding. I really want to try it, but my plan is to switch to formula when I go back to work (when she's about 8 weeks old). Is that realistic? How hard is it to transition from breastfeeding to formula? Can you just suddenly stop breastfeeding or do you have to slowly progress to formula? Thank you for any and all advice.

    You would need to wean slowly to prevent engorgement. Also you could continue to breastfeed when you are home with baby I the mornings and evenings and then use formula during the day
