Stroller for two?

Strollers have always seemed so bulky and space consuming. I'm debating whether we should buy a stroller for two (DS will be just over 2 when baby2 arrives). For those moms out there who have children close enough in age - did you use a double stroller? Any brand you really liked? Or for second time moms to be - are you going to get one?

My son will be almost 3 when the baby is born so I'm not sure if we'll get one or not. We have a city mini and I've been looking at the city mini double and city select but both are so expensive. If I'm not really going to need a double I don't want to spend that much money. I'll be following this thread for opinions!

We don't have one yet, but I've had several recommendations from BTDT moms. Dd will be three when LO2 comes. The one we plan on getting is from babytrend ( Baby Trend Sit N Stand Ultra Stroller, Tropic https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PVQHP4W/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_QSPQvbDVYASJ5 ). We are not a "fancy" family and don't worry about which is the most expensive one. This one seems well priced and very practical, receives good reviews, and has been recommended to me by several moms.

My first two are 21 months apart, and we got the city mini double. I really love it! It is bulky (they all are) but super easy to fold and unfold and comfortable to push. My parents got it for us for Christmas before 2 was born, and it has been so great!

We are planning on getting a BOB Duallie. It's bulky, but I really want a double jogger. We have a single and have used it all the time.

I've seen moms wearing their youngest child in a carrier and pushing their toddler in a single stroller, so that is also an option.

I've tried a lot of different doubles but I've had the most luck with our Uppababy Vista + the jumpseat. It's narrow and relatively small and light weight compared to most doubles. It's also good if you have a slightly older toddler(2-3ish) who won't necessarily be napping in the jump seat, you just need it to keep them contained or give them somewhere to rest when they get tired. We also have the skateboard attachment which is useful for the older toddler/preschoolers.

We also have a Chicco Echo double, which is an umbrella stroller, and while it does fold up pretty small you can't push with one hand, it maneuvers terribly and fits through doorways with almost 0 room to spare so unless you have it lined up perfectly your screwed.

We rarely used a stroller with DD, so I'm really debating this. We carried her in an Ergo and then a Tula. If we get one, it's going to be one like the sit n stand linked above. DD hates being in the stroller, but would want to be carried occasionally. We'll see.

My LO will be 4 when this kiddo arrives, and extremely excited to be in big sibling mode. We are looking at the Joovy Caboose stand on tandem stroller. Kiddo will want to be on the stroller with the baby.

Thank you, matersalad1986! I really like the idea of the sit and stand!! We even have the matching car seat that would fit as we had the Baby trend jogger.

If we have enough money to get another one, we'll get a sit n' stand. Hoping the Baby Trend will work with our Graco seats. If not, DS can just walk. That's what he does now anyway!

I'm on the baby jogger train and have loved strolling around the store with the city select. All the reviews I've read are amazing. I showed my friend who has a 10 month old ds and she said she would get it if she could. So I'm so excited to get it and we can share one stroller when we go out. I also want the city select so I can keep it for baby #2 and 3.

The only reason I will be getting a double is so I can continue my stroller strides class. DS will be 2 in December and I'm a big fan of baby wearing so if it weren't for my class, I wouldn't be getting a double.

Mine were a year apart and I had a combi double and LOVED it. But my now youngest is three and for a year or so she would rather walk everywhere than be in a stroller. I think it just depends on your child. Also a single stroller whole baby wearing is an option too

With my first two (13m apart) I would just put one on the stroller and wear the other in a carrier, but when number 3 came along, we got a BOB dualie and I loveLoveLOVE it. So now, 2 kids ride and I wear one. I've used and really love the double city mini too, but I needed an all-terrain option. Hopefully with #4 coming, one of the big kids won't mind helping me push (or I'll be tandem wearing LOL - now that's a workout!)

I'm looking at the City Select, but it is so expensive. DS will be 2 in January and does not cooperate on walks. He likes to run toward the street. I would like a tandem rather than a side by side. I wish I felt comfortable getting a sit and stand, but he collapses to the ground when he throws tantrums and I don't think he would be willing to stay put. There is still plenty of time to think about this though, so I'm not too worried about it. A lot can change by March.

We have a Joovy Caboose Ultralite and my only complaints about it are that when the bucket car seat is in it, there is hardly any room for the toddler to sit. We used it more when my second was out of that car seat and able to sit up in the stroller around 5-6 months. My older son loved the sit and stand part except he had a tendency to step off of the back a lot when it was in motion, causing him to fall. I have a feeling with #3 I'll wear him/her a lot more and the older two will be in the stroller (assuming #1 still wants to go in the sit/stand part).

we have this one, but the classic connect version. it's not the fanciest/ most expensive double, but it really is the most versatile double to sit-n-stand type stroller.

My boys are 2 years apart and I was glad to have a double stroller. Early on it was easy to wear the baby and put the bigger kid in the stroller, but once my little guy got bigger I enjoyed having it for walks around the neighborhood and some trips. They are not practical for the mall or places like that because they are usually just too big. I have seen the ones with the baby down below that are smaller, but I highly doubt either of my boys would have tolerated that position for long. I preferred the side by side so there was no fighting over who is sitting in front/back and the seats go fully flat so you can put a small baby in it right away without having to use the carseat. I kept it and used it until my older DS was almost 5 for walks to the park. My best advice is to just keep checking craigslist. You will find great deals on barely used strollers from families with twins or that purchased a super nice stroller and then never used it. I got a $700 double baby jogger that was used twice for $150. I resold it four years later for $150 because nice strollers really do hold value. Also, if you have nicer neighborhoods or communities within driving distance, troll those craigslist areas. I live in the county about 1 hour from a very wealthy city (bill gates etc) You would be amazed at what rich people want to get rid of quickly without a hassle. Also, if you buy it on craigslist and decide its not right for you, sell it and get something different. I went through a few strollers before I found my favorites.

My oldest will be 3.5 when the baby is born so we're just going to get the Bob Dualie so we can run with both of them. We do have the Bugaboo with ride board but I'd expect that 99% of the time she'll be on her bike or scooter instead of using it. I've heard only good things about Uppa Baby though! If I could do it all over I would have gone with that one.
