Birth Control and bleeding?

Not sure where the best place to post this is but I went to my doctor 2 weeks ago to get on the pill again after I had my newest little in May. They told me to wait 10 days, test and then start BC this weekend. I tested three days ago and it was negative. However, the day after I tested I started spotting really light. The next day was heavier but it was still only spotting no real flow and today it is completely gone. I am wondering if it could be implantation bleeding because it doesn't seem like a period at all. I know no one is a fortune teller but I don't want to start my pack of BC if there is a possibility I could be pregnant. Advice or experience?

My first advice would be if you're concerned at all about bleeding, and/or possible pregnancy, definitely check with your doctor.

Many on here will tell you if you tested and it said negative you aren't pregnant. Test again.

  • What could we possibly tell you to do other than test again? We can't know if  you're pregnant, as you yourself said.

  • My Doctor doesn't call me back. I was really just looking for advice from someone who has experienced similar situation. Or if someone could say what the protocol is for BC in this situation because I do not know if I should start my pack or not or if it could be harmful.

  • The advice was to test again. It's been a few days.

  • I agree with the other ladies that you should test again. That being said, every woman's body reacts differently to birth control. It's likely that the bleeding is a minor side effect. But you should of course talk to your doc if you are having concerns. Best of luck to ya hun!
  • After having a baby your cycles can be all out of whack. If you are concerned, wait and test again. Then start BC. I was on the mini pill while breastfeeding and then immidiately switched to the regular pill. I didn't have a testing phase. I didn't have any bleeding until DS was 15 months old.
