3rd Trimester

Low Amniotic Fluid

Hi Ladies, I just had my 32 week ultrasound and was told that though I'm still in the normal range my amount of amniotic fluid is on the lower end. They asked if I drink plenty of fluids- I drink a ton! I'm a ftm and just wondering if any of you ever had this and if it's likely I'll be induced early? They scheduled another ultrasound in a week to keep an eye on it. I added a pic I got yesterday of my baby girl.

Thanks

  • Hi there's nothing you can really do except maintain a healthy diet and have lots of water, try to relax you have a few more weeks left try not to stress about it too much.

  • I had a problem with this as well. Turned out I had had two days at work of pushing myself too hard, combined with not staying hydrated as much as usual. Once I took it easy and monitored my water intake better, the doctor measured again and I was fine. I'm glad she gave me time to try to improve on my own before talking induction / cs.
  • They told me this at 26 weeks. I have another ultrasound in a couple weeks to recheck but they just told me to try drinking more fluids and taking it easy (I currently stay at home so other than cleaning and walking the dog I don't do much as is!) I'm just supposed to do daily kick counts and go to l&d if I notice any decrease in movement or leaking. LO is moving pretty well so I think all is okay.
  • I was told this last week, I'm 35 weeks btw, was told to drink lots of water & im now being seen twice a week. I had a check up today & drinking water is definitely helping, my levels are going up!
