My fiancé got me a Snoogle about 2 weeks ago and it's seriously amazing. I am a stomach sleeper so sleeping on my side is very uncomfortable and often hurts a lot. The snoogle helps me sleep on my side but have something soft to lean on so I'm not sleeping with all my weight on my shoulders and hips.
I also love to wrap myself around it.
We have an AC in our room but when I do feel like using it, I have a stand up fan next to my side of the bed for when I get hot.
Last night I had to get my husband to rub my legs. Restless legs has set in and it's awful. I pretty much wake up every hour because of my legs jumping or peeing lol
I can only sleep on my back and have heard it's a no no for pregnant ladies so I pushed our bed up against a wall and bought a body pillow. I can use it where it is behind me against the wall so the pressure feels like I'm sleeping on my back. Lol it's also useful for when I do lay on my side to support the weight of the baby and to keep between my legs. Sleeping big and pregnant is awful!
My husband offered to sleep in the guest bedroom. We have a queen size bed, but with the two of us, a body pillow and my little dog at the end, it's getting crowded. It get's to be a chore to turn over because I can't just sprawl out. I told him that's sweet, but I wouldn't want to do that to him. Although, in the last few weeks I may end up needing to because it's only going to get worse. Part of the reason its 4:30 am and I'm sitting on the couch wide awake!
When I was late in my pregnancy with DS, the only way I could sleep was on the couch, with pillows propped under my knees and my back so my body was in a V shape. I've been dreading that time with this pregnancy because it means meaning my poor, lonely husband in the bed all by himself, but after last night (bad night of sleep for me due to various stomach issues), I think I may be moving to the couch or recliner. Heartburn makes laying down impossible.
I've been using a belly wedge pillow under my bump and it was comfy for a few weeks until all the sudden it wasn't anymore. I just now discovered that my neck pillow (the type you get for airplane and car rides, horseshoe shaped and filled with those little Styrofoam beads/pellets) is actually rather nice when used to cradle the bump!
@MamaOwl15 yes to the couch! I've been on it for the last couple of nights. I sleep almost sitting up, but turned sideways. Dh calls them "Couch Vacations".
I sleep in bed with a body pillow and wedge under my belly but as soon as it hits 7:30 I'm up eating a bowl of cereal (still battling morning sickness) and then on to the couch for a few hours. If I get to sleep on the couch that's where I make up for the restless night. If I can't get back to sleep I'm a walking zombie all day.
I feel like crap this morning. My whole body aches. I sleep SO much better during an afternoon nap, and I think it's because of the AC. I wake up pretty hot and gross in the night. Not to mention waking 6 times to pee and change positions. Uggg can this be over yet?
I just purchased the snoogle. So we will see how that works...ad for my hubby, he has been sleeping in the guest room some night because I constantly wake up to pee and can't get comfortable after. I feel so bad but it's the only way I'm able to get sleep!. Thanks for all of your feedback everyone!
I try to stretch before bed. I'm getting cramps in my legs and it helps to limber up a bit. I've also noticed that letting my belly hang forward helps, so i put a pillow behind my back so that my stomach stays forward. Only downside to that is the baby always gets super wiggly initially but overall my body feels better.
Disrupted sleep is unfortunately going to be a big part of our lives, so try to find rest time during the day and not feel guilty. It's good practice for napping when the baby naps once he or she is here.
@MamaOwl15 i did the couch with my second pregnancy too. Heartburn and back pain made it impossible to sleep otherwise. I only love my bed (cali king so it's not small) when I'm alone. I love to sleep by my SO but i also want to kill him for sleeping so peacefully most of the time.
Ugh yes. 25 weeks too. Queen bed with hubby snoogle and 2 small dogs getting crowded. The snoogle prob helps but I would say nothing is amazing right now!! It's so big if I want to switch sides at night I don't move it. But I'm sure it's better than nothing.
Thank goodness I'm not alone with the whole sleeping on the couch. I'm so uncomfortable in the bed and feel bad because I wake my husband up from all the tossing and turning. I have a boppy and it doesn't help. I have found a little comfort on my couch propped up with pillows.
Sleep? What is this foreign concept you speak of? I'm probably just doing a half day today since I got about 1.5 hours last night and would like to avoid being useless for the rest of the day.
On a more helpful note... Take time to wind down, even if it seems like it'll use too much energy. Make sure your bed is made so it's nice getting into it. Take a warm bath, maybe replace our former glass of wine with hot water with lemon and honey (I always add a little apple cider vinegar for health benefits... a LITTLE being the key). Set your alarm and then IGNORE YOUR PHONE. Technology WILL keep you awake so avoid the temptation of FB scrolling or Pinterest oggling! I find sleeping is a little more manageable, too, when you have a heating pad on your back but a fan on by the bed, a few pillows under the head/ shoulders, a big pillow between the knees, one supporting the back and another to hug... my poor husband...
I will be comfortable enough to sleep when I'm in a king size bed and I don't have a cat or dog digging my sides and a boyfriend who snores. Body pillows haven't helped. Although I have not bought a snoogle and already almost 7 months I kind of don't want to. I'm kind of cheap lol
My sleep is not good at all I thought once my husband and I got a new bed it would be better but I'm not comfy I wake up alot then when I wake up to make my husband's lunch before he leaves for work I end up staying awake not being able to fall back to sleep so I end up with a total of 3 or 4 hours of sleep :-S edit: forgot to mention I also have the body pillow and other pillows no help.....

We bought a king bed because of this! I had my snoogle, dog, and hubs all in our queen bed and it was getting pretty tight. We went and got a king and it's SO much better. We were already planning on getting a king for a while and we got a new house so it worked out, because it's definitely not the cheapest solution.
I'm shocked no one has mentioned this yet. Sex. I don't know about everyone else, but for me the orgasms are so much better since becoming pregnant! I know that you'll feel "too tired" but ahh the sleep you get afterwards is totally worth the one hour of restlessness you'll lose. Quality over quantity of hours slept is the only thing getting me through.
@rhiannonbaca ... We just bought a king size bed yesterday!!!! We've been suffering on a full size for 5+ years and it's just getting ridiculous at this point so we broke down. 2. More. Weeks. CAN'T WAIT!
I haven't broken down yet for a king bc we bought our queen 2 years ago to match all our other furniture and would have no where else to put but I really want to!! Just keep trying to think need over want.

You sound exactly like me. I'm not a side sleeper at all. In order to fall asleep, I have to lie on my stomach. The Snoogle has been helpful but since I'm closing in on my due date, sleep has been escaping me. I honestly can count the times I've slept well my whole pregnancy on one hand. I get so irritated when I look over and see my husband sleeping soundly =/
I bought the queen size bed when I bought my townhouse right after we started dating. It's only 4 years old and don't want to get rid of it. It's pretty. I had debated at the time on getting a king size. Now I'm kicking myself in the butt for not getting it!

Maybe after the holidays we can look into it. For now, we'll just have to suffer on our full size bed.
