Just saw the doctor this afternoon and if I don't start labour by Wednesday, I will be induced at 8 am. Looking forward to it!
So I told my husband what the plan was and he is ACTUALLY suggesting he goes to work for half the day since it's kind of pointless for him to be there and I quote "stare at white walls all day"... I am so pissed off at the moment. I know I can't predict how long it will take but seriously...Am I overreacting?
Re: Stupid idea from the husband?
Just explain that you will need his support even if that's just sitting by your side holding your hand. Hopefully he gets it.

To make matters worst, apparently he "needs" to bring the chickens he's been raising with a friend to the butcher at 5 am that morning for slaughter AND he informed me that he wanted to do some side jobs while he is off for the week when the baby comes. I don't get it! I swear the man lost is common sense. He is normally not like that.
But if my hubby told me this I would be absolutely furious. We're a team and it's important for him to be there for support.
I'm hoping your husband comes to his senses before you have to strangle him.
Is there another couple you are close with who have kids and could give their perspective? As a FTM, there have been a TON of things I or my DH assumed would be easy or ok, and the honest perspectives of others have been really helpful for us as reality checks about what pregnancy, labor and birth might be like. Just a thought

I think the start of an induction is probably not a great time to be heading off to work though, that seems way more risky and unfair to you being there alone.
I am nervous and excited and can't wait to find out if it a boy or a girl.
