so does anyone else have this tradition where their SO gets them a 'pushing present' as me and my husband call it?! After I had my preemie son he was in nicu for 5 weeks my hubs bought me a new camera so we could take pictures of how he was developing to show family and friends. We called it my pushin present just for a bit of fun! I've reminded him that the baby is due in a couple of weeks so to get looking at gifts haha! My friend thought it was weird that he rewarded me with a present but it's just a bit of fun and a way for my husband to show his appreciation (as he should haha!) Anyone else do anything similar?
Re: Pushin' present
It's mostly interesting to me that you seem to be suggesting that this is a unique thing your husband did for you. Push presents (as the rest of the world calls them) are not uncommon.
Like any occasion, one shouldn't "expect" a gift. But I don't think there is anything wrong with receiving one.. Obviously we would all be more than happy with the gift of a healthy baby! I'm positive my SO has no clue what a push present is. But we have talked about tattoos with babies name... I'm sure he will somehow get me flowers or my favorite ice cream or something while we hang in the hospital.
He definitely deserved something for being so amazing, and he's been wanting that eReader.
