I would also prefer to wait to go to Facebook. It is probably quiet around here because of the weekend. I found on my last BMB that things tend to slow down in the weekend and pick up during the work week (it's almost like people don't want to work... hmm).
I agree that it's a bit quiet because of the weekend. It's also still really early in our pregnancies, I think we'll get a lot more newbies when we hit 2nd tri. Truthfully all those on Facebook or asking to be on Facebook I've never seen post on here anyway.
There used to be daily or weekend check ins. I think there's also Bitchfest Monday, CPT (clicky poll Tuesday), HDBD (also second tri), UO on Thursday, and FFFC on Fridays.
I think the January apocalypse killed off TB before FB did.
Hey girl.
And yes, this exactly. The strong community of women here was decimated. My old BMB had 10x as many posts per day as this one, and a lot of committed regulars vs drive-bys.

Can I ask what happened? People keep mentioning it.
And no, it was just the weekend - if anyone else is like me, you just don't go on The Bump during the weekend.
In January, the site introduced new terms of use, and when many of the longterm volunteer mods disagreed with the strictures of said terms of use, they fired them for trivial offenses, including saying anything against the paid mods or the new TOU. Then they started banning any user who said anything against the site or the new TOU. In all, thousands of users were banned or left of their own volition and started a new site. Because many of those banned were committed regulars, the traffic volume dropped dramatically and the stability of the community was shaken (there used to be volunteer mods on each BMB who were pregnant alongside all the other ladies on the BMBs as well as a lot more regular longtime posters on each board to offer advice, etc.). A lot of those regular users were characterized by more casual drive-by users as "mean girls" because of their snarky and honest posts, but they were really committed to the community and had been for years. Without that culture of regs, it's a very different feel here than it used to be.

I still get a little sad when I think of how it used to be!
Well ok then. Yeah I was here for October '11 and it was way different. Like no "rules" at all. Took me a little bit to get used to the way of the board.

I'm so confused! I don't quite understand what the appeal of Facebook is. I don't want two apps to check everyday. But I guess if everyone plans on moving over during the 2nd or 3rd trimester, I will too. There wouldn't be much point being the only one left here.

Yup. It bums me out. I lived on the infertility board while going through IVF, it was a great resource. I'm sad for all the people who try to go there now, it's a dead town like most the other boards. The spin off board is a little more active. PM me for details.
P.s. hi adorebel! I shortened my sn on TCF but the avatar is the same.
I'm new to this board. I've only known about my pregnancy for a little over a week. I'd prefer to keep things here for quite a while longer and then start a more official FB group since there are a couple started already. That way we can all go in more at the same time rather than try to join a group where cliques have already started. I was in a FB group for my last pregnancy too. I liked it, but it was definitely clique-y and I ended up leaving it because I felt like I could never keep up or connect with people.
My old BMB pre-exodus had a daily spam thread - which I think someone already mentioned, so I tried starting one today, but no takers. That thread was the best thread for great, normal, random discussion. It was usually 4 or 5 pages by 8am.

is that what happened? I was wondering... I used to post fairly regularly back in the day, but took a hiatus, returned and am now relegated to lurker status because I'm so confused by how different things are around here.
I'm also wondering if people are more Larkin until they feel in the safe zone. I've noticed at lot more loss and late term loss than in June 2013.
This is me exactly- I'm 6 weeks and am lurking until I'm past the point of my miscarriage (only a few more days!) and until the doctor is no longer worried it might be ectopic cause my HCG while doubling appropriately, is low.
The boards are crazy different! I was in the June 2013 board under a different name. The board was FULL of sass, and if people were offended, they either left- GBCB, or they figured their ish out and didn't ask stupid questions.
