Insurance

I am in the process of waiting for my insurance to process with tricare. So as of now I am 13 weeks and yet to see a doctor. I was wondering if I should be worried. I have a Doppler and I've heard the heart beat everyday since 9 weeks. But it still worries me that I haven't been yet and am out of my first trimester. I've been taking prenatal and have all the normal symptoms that a pregnancy at my time should have. It just worries me and want to know if I should be this worried or is it not that bad.

Re: Insurance

  • The most important scan is generally the 20 week anatomy scan. Unless you have been bleeding, feeling exceptionally ill, or other serious symptoms as long as you are taking a good prenatal not much else really matters. You have missed the window for the NT scan but it's not the end of the world. Make sure your prenatal includes DHA and if it does not add that to your supplement intake as well.

  • I agree with the other person the anatomy scan is usually the most important anyway and all they do at 1st trimester & 2nd trimester is heart rate, hcg levels which is peeing in a cup at every visit for me at least, but you are creeping up on the time frame when you should get your quad screen check if their are any women's practices that offer free prenatal care and tell them your situation I just had my quad screen done last visit at 14 weeks and 5 days. But I'm pretty sure your insurance will pick up within those weeks hopefully.
