Wait... What?! Blood stick???

I was browsing HPT images on countdowntopregnancy because.. hello! what else is there to do on a Sunday AM the day after you get a BFP? Anywho, I came across a RED one... the poster said it was dipped in blood diluted with a little water. What in the name of all that's holy?? Is this a thing? Do I live under a rock??? Blood sticks sounds so much creepier than pee stick. Seriously though. 

What. The Fuck.

    Ewwww! I have never heard of anything like that! Was it a regular pregnancy test? Smh

    I read something similar where the women were diluting their blood and using it on a HPT to pick up HCG. Someone had commented that this is done in an ER if it is not possible to get a urine sample and a test needs to be taken immediately....but I don't know how reliable it is!

    That's some real desperation. I feel bad when I see women freaking themselves out like this. Test once, give it a week and test again if you haven't gotten your period. Don't cut yourself, oh my God!

    That's really crazy o.O Never heard that one before, and I have seen many crazy things about trying to conceive.

    At this point why not just go for a blood test at the hospital?

    Uhhhh... I'm an ER nurse and this is something I've never seen done. In a trauma situation where we would need to know ASAP we would get urine from a catheter or just do a blood draw. This seems pretty sketchy to me....

    People are crazy and need to not do this. If you're test is negative wait a couple of days and take another one. Mind. Blown.
