Looking for a travel system has been so overwhelming! Do any of you ladies have any suggestions? Price is not an issue, just looking for something safe that's going to last.
Instead of a prepacked travel system I'm going with Baby Jogger City Mini GT with adapter for Graco click connect. Then I'm getting the Graco snugride 30 (small car). All in all about $500 and well worth it IMO. I have tested them out in the stores and LOVE the stroller especially.
Yup after doing the research we are going with the Baby Jogger too, but the city select. We like it because it has the adaptor for most bucket seats, and it grows with your family. We plan on having two close together so I'd rather be prepared for two than be buying more strollers down the line!
I went to Buy Buy Baby to test things out yesterday, I think we are going with the uppababy vista. It comes with a bassinet so bubs can sleep in that in the beginning. Their car seat, the Mesa, fits right on without a converter. It felt good for me (5'5") and my husband (6'2"). The clerk there wasn't super helpful though, so I am still pondering. For those of you going City Select, what attracts you to them? That was the only other one the clerk showed us.
Edited to add the uppababy also easily converts to a double stroller.
I'm going with the graco click connect car seat and the jogger. The jogger is more bulky and heavy but we're going to be doing a lot of walking and were busy bodies so I think it'll work for us. Plus I plan on doing a lot of baby wearing so I think between the two that'll be good. I wanted something durable that rode nice and was going to last a bit!
Never had a travel system and didn't feel like I was missing out. We got the converter bar for our jogging stroller (Bob Revolution). The same bar is used later for the snack tray.
@snoopylovesbelle the need to buy a double is the main reason we are not going with the Britax stroller. Trying to be preemptive. But we are going to get the Britax b-35 car seat!
@emzie54 we like the fact that there are more convertible options than with some of the competitors. I don't like how the Britax convertible, one child is always sitting below and behind the other. With the City select the higher child can sit behind the lower child, which I like better. Also the wheels are super nice, it's easy to use, and we have friends who have it and are going on to their third and have never had to buy another stroller. They swear by it!
I was tight for money and bought a Graco Lightweight Travel System in like a turquoise color. worked so good for the $$$ I was so happy I didn't spend the $300+ on any other brand.
But I will admit the Baby Jogger IS very nice but pricey for my broke self.
@OrangeFox do you have an SUV or a different stroller you use when you travel? I loved the BOB Revolution but I'm not sure it will fit in my Honda Accord.
As a former stroller/car seat salesperson, my favorite strollers are: -Umbrella Stroller: Uppa Baby G-Luxe - lightweight and can be reclined -Jogger: Bob Revolution - great system, easy to fold, awesome tires for multiple terrains -Travel System: Uppa Baby Vista - love that every setup is rear facing or forward facing, very adaptable, can fit up to THREE kids! (but if money really is no object the Orbit is the most incredible stroller on the market) -Infant Car Seat: Chicco Key Fit 30 - easy install, fits many stroller systems, relatively lightweight
All of these are my favorites for a mix of reasons: Mid-upper level price point which usually equates to quality, comfort, and materials; Ease of installation and/or easy collapse; Can suit a multitude of size/weight ranges; Can be converted to fit more than one child; Great customer service! (I once had a customer smash their Vista frame in the trunk of their car, and Uppa Baby replaced it free of charge, no questions asked!)

I just purchased the CS over the vista mostly due to the price since BBB and Albee were having a sale that the second seat was free so it only cost me $500. I compared both of them at BBB and they are very similar with the exception that the storage space on the vista is slightly larger but I liked the fact that both the seats on the CS are the same size unlike the vista where the rumble seat is smaller. Many say that the vista has a better push than the CS but I've had a City Elite and don't mind the push but I'm also not a stroller snob either. To me it wasn't worth the extra money for the vista tho I really liked it. And I recently found out that I can switch out the Canopys on the CS for the bugaboo breezy to make it cooler so I'll be doing that. And even tho the vista comes with the bassinet, I just don't use a stroller enough to warrant one and much rather not wake a baby and leave in the car seat. Both the vista and CS recline practically flat that when they do sleep, you can make it similar to a bassinet.
To the OP, I highly recommend avoiding wasting the money on a travel system and finding a stroller that you really like and getting the car seat adaptor. Forgo the snap and go as well. There are so many nice strollers at decent prices that can accommodate car seats which you'll really only be using for a short period of time anyway. I never even bought the car seat adaptor and just baby wore or carried the carrier and put it in a shopping cart if needed.
Also for those FTM, if you do decide on getting a stroller that converts into a double, understand they are heavier strollers in general than a single bc they are made to hold more weight. A lot of people complain about this when they only have one and compare it to other singles.
We are going with the Britax B Agile B Safe. My husband did a ton of research, after we had decided we realized our good friends currently have it. It's light and easy to use and allows you to transfer your baby from the car to the stroller without waking them up to move them.
@ChrissyD1203 we have a Subaru Forester for our primary car. So we never had any problems with that space issue. However, we also have a tiny chevy cavalier that gets used on random occasions. The stroller fit just fine in the trunk. When my son was very little I used to take an umbrella stroller sometimes just because the bob is so bulky. However, the Bob stroller is so much nicer I found myself rarely using the umbrella stroller. To be honest when my son was really little I used the baby carrier a lot (Moby or Ergo) so a stroller wasn't always needed anyway.
