This x 1000. OP - what exactly did you want to hear? If you genuinely don't know the signs of labor, then I suggest you a) take a labor class and/or b) google it, because it doesn't make any sense to ask random internet strangers this question.
You've thrown a temper tantrum in response to almost every thread you've ever started on these boards. The common denominator in all those threads is (wait for it!) you. It might be time to be just a wee bit more thoughtful about what you post - a little bit of common sense goes a long way!

I try to stay away from these 'drama' posts and while sometimes I think answers can be unnecessarily rude or harsh, other times I think the OP is asking for it. However, I would like to point out something that I think is important for us to remember; there are women on this board from all over the world, some more educated and others less, from all different socioeconomic situations, many who speak English as a second or third language, ect. So while it may be common sense to many of us to google something, or take a course, question our doctors if they mumble something silly, ect Everyone is different so lets just try to be considerate and keep that in mind...
This makes sense to me. My doctor measures my belly to make sure baby is growing and on track. When baby and belly are at a certain size (I think 40 inches) we are considered full term. It's not a sure thing, and not the only thing to consider, but I get it.
Guess I'm never having this baby then because there's no way I'll ever reach 40cm! I'm 38 weeks and change and measuring 34cm, baby is tucked in and down in my pelvis, my belly size has nothing to do with when I'll go into labor!

This is fair. BUT, I believe most of these "attacks" were originally directed at what OP's doctor had told her about labor. It didn't become about the OP specifically until she made it about herself. At least, that's how I read this thread. :-/

Well all you catty bitches since you are all Drs now...my dr says weird shit all the time...he said it was ok for me to have 1-2 beers or glasses of wine and or coffee twice a day! This is why they have the search function. You dont have to read every board. I was wondering about L&D nurse goodies earlier today and knew it had to have been asked before probably before I got more active withe the board. I literally only typed in L&D nurse and the top 3 threads were gift threads. It was very simple and much quicker than waiting on responses if you are busy.

Also, going back to your previous comment, I've heard a lot of medical professionals say 1-2 glasses of wine are per week are fine, especially later in pregnancy, so I don't find that odd at all. I have had a couple half glasses here and there. Ever been to Europe? Many women there have an occasional glass of wine while pregnant and it's totally normal and no one thinks a thing of it. It's a personal choice, some women abstain completely, others do not.
ETA: Most doctors will tell you that you can have coffee everyday if you want, just keep the caffeine to 200mg or less.

@GirlOnTheBeach I just couldnt even respond to her. Its funny how all the "bullies" at least come with clear thoughts on their points and dont get "catty or nasty" as the posters will say until someone gets catty over a response they got that they didnt appreciate. All I do is let someone know the search function works well for not having to repost and get lovely bitchy sarcasm in return from someone who I dont think I hardly ever see post at all. Why on earth would you spend MONTHS of your life reading something that bothers you so much?!
I know we often tell people to use the search function, but it's worth pointing out that many of the "easy" questions that people have asked lately don't even require a search on the Bump. You can just google them. The topic of this very thread, for example, yields tens of thousands of google results.
If you have a basic question like "what are the signs of labor?", why would you ever turn to the less efficient but more annoying approach of posting it on a message board? It's not that we think FTMs shouldn't have tons of questions - lord knows I do - it's that a new message board post shouldn't be your first port of call for every single question that pops into your head. Use common sense.

I hope you didnt feel I was attacking you as another poster seemed to take it, but yes the search function will save you time! Also, using the search function you will find more responses than posting something that has already been posted because everyone is less apt to post on the repost again as they will be repeating themselves over and over. Most posters need to realize this is the main reason people will let you know if your post is a repeat.

I have a very good midwife and I'm having twins, she said twins are more likely to go into labour earlier than singles due to the weight of bubs pushing on the cervix...maybe that's what he meant but didn't explain it properly?! It hasn't worked out that way for me, I've bee having contractions for 6 weeks, and both bubs are huge for their gestation (above 95th percentile) but my bubs are breech so their weight is not pressing on the cervix correctly

She is one of my favorites and her responses are definitely helpful even on those AWFUL repeat (and not well thought out or posts. So who would answer their not So thought out and repeat questions? LOL
