cute nickname needed!!

So we just found out today that we are having a boy. My husband is absolutely set on giving this child his name. The baby will be the fourth! We already have a boy and a girl and I was luckily able to skip this name issue with my first son.

The name is Clifford Murry C.

My husband's grandfather goes by Cliff. Dad goes by Murry and my husband goes by Trey. I am dead set against calling my child Clifford. I am trying to compromise and call him "Ford" but husband isn't too thrilled. "CC" and "Ivy" both sound girly to me. What are some other nicknames you can come up with? Please help!!!!!!

    Hodor ? Seriously tho Clive is cute. I'd suggest trying the baby names board they were super helpful with my name question.

    Little C. I knew a guy with a C name that he hated so he just went by "C".

    Cliff. I don't think there is anything wrong with having the same name/nickname as your great grandfather.

    I'd go with Cliff.  Or..um...Quattro?  (Continuing the "trey = tre = III" convention).  That's a stretch, though.  I'd just go with Cliff.

    I like Ford. I'm considering it as a middle name. Not because of the company or anything, but because it has personal meaning. I also think Clyff is cute.

    Cliff. I have a cousin named Ford ( not a nn) and it's not too terrible IMO

    Did you ask your other kids what they thought? They may come up with a nn that has nothing to do with the real name, that sticks.

    For example, I know a little girl called "Brownie" because of her older brother. I have NO idea what her real name is, but Brownie fits her SO SO well!

    Not sure how I feel about it but have you thought of Chip (as in chip off the old block). I know lots of guys who are he fourth that are nn chip.

    If you're a Divergent fan you could call him Four...

    But I think Ford is great, I'd keep arguing for that.
    I don't think CC is all that girly, one of my guy friends goes by it and works for him.

    My Aunt has been called Star her whole life, even though she has a lovely given name Andrea, because when she was born my uncle said they should name her star like twinkle twinkle little star and it stuck.

    You could always do initials. DH is named after his dad and was always called Little C or CJ growing up.

    Ford isn't awful and it could grow on you. My husband was also set on using his name the first go around "Giancarlo" and I'm just not in love with it. Thankfully we found a name that makes us both happy if this one is a boy, "Gianluca". 

    And if you can't think of any plays off Clifford, you can always find something random that connects to him on a deeper level.

    Ford, Ry (pronounced like tie), Clyde, Four (from divergent)... I like Ford, but you could call him something totally unrelated to the name.
