Aching feeling in sides and lower part of boobs. I feel tired and fatigued. I had one night that I didn't pump as frequently and my boobs got a little hard and engorged but I massaged the ducts and pumped and they got softer but they have been sore ever since. This would not be a sign of mastitis would it? Is it normal to have sore achy slightly burny feeling in boobs. My left hurts a little more than right...
If it's slight discomfort, it's probably just still a few plugged ducts. The best cure for that is having the baby nurse as much as possible. And of course keep an eye on it and watch for any fever. In the meantime, get as much rest as possible to prevent mastitis - it's no fun!
I have been trying to remedy it but nothing seems to help. This week I was trying to just keep putting her to breast but it's not helping because her latch is on and off and her feeding is erratic. I have been pumping to feed her now every three hours but still the pain never leaves. So my post partum is kicking in and feeling majorly sad and overwhelmed.
I was recently told an odd remedy for breast pain--cabbage! Not eating it, but cutting a cabbage in half and holding it on your breast! Strange but I've heard from a few people that it offers pain relief. Maybe do a little research and try it, couldn't hurt right!
Yes I just tried this! It works very well! Feels good nice a cold too. For me though it doesn't last long and then my boobies clog up. I was told to try sunflower lecithin. I read some off putting things about soy lecithin but looking into if sunflower is better for it
