Nose Frida

Seems silly to have a whole post about this but did some searching and no one had really any info on this except for liking it. Was wondering for people that have used it- what makes it so amazing and different from one of those traditional rubber ones. I registered for a kit that has a traditional one. And saw the nose Frida you need refills for which seems annoying. Thanks!

Re: Nose Frida

  • The rubber ones barely have enough suction to clear a child's nostrils. Plus they are super prone to mold and bacteria build up. If you google for images of them cut open, I'm sure you'll find them quickly.

The nose Frieda allows you to control the amount of suction. You can take it apart and clean it easily and it's clear so you can see if there is any yucky build up. We've had great results with ours and I always give it as a baby gift.

I too have used the nose Friday and the graco battery operated aspirators. We love how the frida gets more out, you can control the pressure, by how hard u suck. It sounds gross but I love it and love that I can clean it so well. The extra filters, we have even just washed then rinsed those and used them numerous times over before buy new ones because its really just a piece of sponge to keep boogies from traveling upwards into the tube then your mouth. Our son is almost three and still is learning to blow his nose. We use it on him when he has a hard time! I definitely recommend it and once you get the hang of it you'll love it! Its amazing all the stuff it gets out!
  • I didn't like the auction one you buy at like target in those kits but the one I got from the hospital was amazing. I plan on asking the hospital for two this time. Boogers gross me out so the nose Freda would make me gag if I had to use it.

Seriously once you use it you won't have anymore questions :(
  • When I first heard of the Nosefrida I was like, "no way am I going to suck my baby's snot out with my mouth!" But as PP said, nothing gets into your mouth.

I liked the Nosefrida better than either the hospital nasal aspirator or the little one that came in the grooming kit from Target. You may have to hold the baby down to use it, but once they can breathe again, both of you will feel much better!

  • I registered for the nose Frida. My friend still uses it on her toddler. Like @aah1013 said...the regular rubber bulb ones get NASTY. There's no way to really clean them. They traumatized me as a kid so there's no way I'll be using them on my son. And you can reuse the filter. It's just a little sponge!
  • When your baby is so congested they can't sleep and you're exhausted, the thought of how disgusting sucking snot out of the nose with your mouth will not even cross your mind. The stupid rubber ones don't even compare to how effective the nose frida is, not to mention they are notorious for trapping moisture and getting moldy

YES! I cut my hospital one open when DD1 was a baby after reading about how dirty they stay...HORRIFYING!! I don't care how well or not well the hospital bulbs work, I throw that mess away after one use! Yuck yuck yuck!
  • Yuck! Thanks! I added the nose frida to my registry. Did not realize that.
  • We've used one for 2 years and it's hands down the best ever. It gets everything out so much better. Also, I stopped using the sponge refills a long time ago and never had any issues with bacteria swap or misuse.

I just used it the other day for my 2.5 year old's allergies. It still works wonders

  • I just added this to my registry! Very curious about this item because it does seem a little weird to me, but I all have heard are amazing things so definitely going to try it! I've seen those bulbs opened up and THATS disgusting!
