What does baby movement feel like?

I have a slightly tilted uterus, so it may take me a little longer to feel baby movement, at this point I'm still not able to differentiate where my uterus even really is still! So can you help me out? How can I tell when I'm feeling baby move (obviously I know it may take some weeks still)

In the very beginning, it will feel like popcorn is popping in your stomach.

Thank you @sck601, is it a consistent popping feeling, that may continue for a little while, or just one or two "pops", or does it vary? Sorry I'm feeling very inquisitive about it, as I'm still not always "feeling" pregnant so I'm looking forward to those movements. :)

And is it a strong feeling or very faint?
  • The first time I felt DD, it was a fluttery feeling that tickled directly behind my pubic bone. It was only for a few seconds, and I didn't feel it again for a week or so.

It depends on how active LO is. I have a tilted uterus as well. Popping popcorn is an apt description. If the baby has hiccups or is being especially active, it could feel constant. Most of the time, at this stage, it is mostly just a few little flutters that you'll feel. You'll feel a lot more once he or she starts running out of spaces to hide.
  • For my first it felt bubbly at first with little pokes from the inside. Very strange. I had some gas at the beginning of this pregnancy that felt so much like movement. So like gas ☺️
  • Feels sort of like bubbles popping or butterfly's flying. It will be intermittent. I used to feel my first at night when I was laying still (on my back or belly). I also could feel it when I was sitting and "scrunching"baby by bending over or something. As you get further along, it will feel more like a long swoosh or sweeping motion. Or tiny jabs. Then u will know it's baby for sure
  • When I got further along in my first and second pregnancy I could always tell when baby was about to move. I got this tensing feeling in my belly and woosh the baby would move. There was one time with my first I felt that tightening feeling and told my husband to look and my whole stomach did this flip flop. We both got a kick out of it.

You won't feel it constantly at first, because the baby is still little. When I first felt DD (around 19ish weeks) it was only when I was laying down and very still. It would be a couple sporadic pops at a time. As the baby got bigger, it felt like actual kicks and I would feel the turns and movements.

Love how creative these discriptions are getting!! Very cute!
  • Awesome descriptions ladies and so helpful for a FTM! I'm only 14w and a few days so I don't think I've felt anything like this so far and if I have I've probably assumed it was just gas. But, I'll definitely be paying closer attention now!
