I'm sure you meant for feeding baby though. We used glass bottles to store expressed breast milk in the fridge for DD while I was still working after she was born. Plastic baggies for the freezer and collecting while I was pumping at work. Plastic bottles for feeding her.
I try to only drink from a glass water bottle. I guess the reasons for doing that hold just as, if not more true for my baby. I hadn't even thought about it thanks!
Pretty much everyone who will be handling bottles on the regular, me, DH, and my Mom, are WAY to klutzy for glass! It'll be plastic for us. I'm not planning on storing anything for more than a day or two, just pumping at work. I plan on trying Kiinde so the milk gets pumped right into the bag and then the bag gets popped right into a bottle, no transfers!
For DS we used Dr. Browns plastic 2oz in the NICU and Dr. Browns 6oz glass as soon as he was taking more than 2oz at a feeding. I by nearly mainly and pumped to build a stash and stored that milk in Lansinoh plastic milk bags.
I also used Dr Brown bottles with DS. I think glass would be difficult, especially when LO starts holding it on their own. They also will start throwing them and banging them on the table as the grow. I'm sure the glass bottles are thick and do not break easily, but it's just something to think about.
When our first glass bottle broke we switched to plastic. No regrets here. They are all bpa free now and we just never put them in the microwave or dishwasher just to be extra careful. I liked the tommee tippee closer to nature and the avent bottles because they were both so easy to clean.
We used, and will use, both plastic and glass bottles. We used glass at home and plastic for daycare. I also used plastic when pumping. As a general rule, I wouldn't stock up on any one brand. I made the mistake of stocking up on the fancy BF-friendly bottles and nipples and DS hated them. He preferred regular cheapie bottles and nipples.
With how much bottles get tossed around and lugged all over (for travel and pumping) I personally wouldn't do glass bottles. LO kindly took to the medela bottles which was great bc that's what we were given from our shower. Plastic to be just seemed safer for everyday use.
We had glass Lifefactory bottles and Pura stainless steel bottles. Love them both for different reasons. My son had no problems with any bottles/nipples/etc so we had it easy from what I hear. We actually only bought 4 bottles before he was born, two of each brand, and planned on waiting to see what we like or needed. Turns out we never needed more than that, glass and stainless steel are super easy to wash.

I feel kind of stupid that I've never heard of stainless steel bottles. Must go research these now...
