Messy pumping

I feel so silly asking this question but I must be missing something. Everytime I pump, I wind up making a huge mess when trying to disassemble. Whether using a hands free pumping bra or holding the bottles, when I'm done, I always wind up with a lap or belly covered in breastmilk when I try to remove the phalanges. It leaks either from the valves when I remove the bags/bottles or from the cones if I try to remove them separately. Anyone have advice on how to wear less milk? Thanks!

    It sounds like the flanges arent sticking tightly to you. I would recommend makig the hands free bra tighter and then when youre done, lean forward to tilt the milk in.

    I always have a small towel handy and place it on my lap while pumping. Then when I go to disconnect everything i do one side at a time and hold that towel close underneath so if anything leaks its caught by the towel.
