OK so this is not about my unborn. But I need advice! My daughter will be 9 next month. And now she is getting nipply. It's like little mosquito bites that you can see thru her shirts. I don't think little girls should walk around with little nipples showing. So my question is is 8-9 yrs old a normal age to start training bras? She is skinny and tall so I know she is developing. It's not baby fat. Ughhhh...I just wanna cry!! Growing up too fast. Thank God this is a boy I'm having!!

I think you shouldn't base it off what others have done because as we all know every girl is built differently. For instance my breasts got very large very fast I'm 2nd and 3rd grade I went from wearing nothing to wearing a b cup. I think if you think that your daughter is ready for a training bra and it would make she less self conscious and you feel more comfortable as well then go ahead.

I'm not basing it on anyone else...I'm just wanting to know different experiences with this! I am going to start her because I see them developing slighty. But like I said there real small...have you tried undershirts first? @Maracs

Tank tops with built in bras might be a good option undershirts too but it's bulky and awkward especially I'm the summer months

Yeah thats what I was thinking..too hot!! But just thought it may help transition her into the bra. I will talk with her..see what makes her comfortable! Thanks! @Maracs
  • My daughter is 9 1/2. She started with the little "mosquito bites" last year. I realized it when buying school clothes. I just let her wear a little training bra, without the padding of course since it's not needed yet. It has covered her up, up to this point.really, it's just like wearing a small under shirt. They all fit differently so you just have to find what she likes best.
  • I figured if nothing else, she might as well get use to wearing the bra. I also had to make rules bc she doesn't always like to wear them. My rules are if she's in the house, she doesn't have to wear them unless company is over and if she leaves the house at all, even if it's just outside to play, she has to wear one. The only time I have an issue is when she's at her fathers house which is rare. He doesn't make sure she wears it or brush her hair or anything like that but that's a nothing story in itself.

This is the best kind for that age! I had the bites at 7-8 too and loved this kind more than the sporty ones.
  • My daughter is 10 and has been wearing 32A's for about a year now.
We started in the little tanks about 2 years ago but she outgrew those.
Also- she was a little lopsided and I didn't want her to feel embarrassed so we went with the ones with a little padding.
  • Thanks ladies this helps out alot. @beccer123 yeah when she goes to her dad I'm sure I will have that same issue. Smh. @mers90 yes those were the ones I was looking at. I'm going to take her with me just to make sure she is comfortable too.
