High-Risk Pregnancy

Cold knife conezation

Has anyone ever had one and carried a healthy pregnancy afterwards? I had one done a year ago and now DH and I are ready for a baby but I've read that there can be some pretty scary risks.

Re: Cold knife conezation

  • I had an aggressive LEEP and my cervix was short due to that. I got put on couch potato rest and progesterone as a precaution once a was further along, so far so good.

  • I have had multiple colposcopies, a LEEP and a cold knife cone. I'm currently 21+3 weeks pregnant and had a cerclage placed at 17 weeks because of funneling with cervix shortening to 2.5cm. When I decided to try to get pregnant I talked with my OB first and he gave us the go ahead knowing I would likely need to have a cerclage. Once I was pregnant, I had ultrasounds every week since 8 weeks to get cervical lengths. Cerclage Still holding tight and I'm working 40-50 hours a week in the OR (I did have bed rest for 2 weeks after my cerclage though because of preterm labor). It's possible to carry but just know there is a high chance of cervical incompetence and possible preterm labor. Hope this helps!
