Period like bleeding

I'm just over 6 weeks and earlier this afternoon I started bleeding (similar to heavy day of period) I called my doctor right away and was advised to go to the lab and have blood work taken. I had bloodwork at 5 weeks and everything looked great. I'll repeat blood work again on Sunday. My doctor's office said unless the bleeding is really heavy (I go through 4 pads in 4 hours) to just rest this weekend and they will follow up on Monday.

My bleeding has subsided, still there when I wipe but my pad is dry, I do have some cramping but I've had cramping since I found out I was pregnant. I don't want to assume a MC but it was enough blood to make me really concerned and think that it's very likely. Nothing much I can do except rest and wait until Monday to get some answers. Has anyone else experienced heavy bleeding?

Sorry to hear this:( sadly I have twice and my results were not good! My sis on the other hand did as well but is 7 months pregnant now and everything was ok! So not to give you false hope but stay hopeful for now! I know its2hard and I'm sorry! Prayers

That actually happened to me with my second son. I was about 8 or 9 weeks. And had really started bleeding a lot. My doc had me come in for an ultrasound and they found the pregnancy still viable. I then went to the hospital for a more in depth ultrasound ( don't have the equipment at doc office) and they too saw the heart beat. It was a tear where placenta was coming away from uterus. Hence the bleeding. I was put on rest for a few weeks and healed. It was very scary. But it all worked out. Carried to term and he will turn 3 in a month!! Hoping the best for you. Rest up and take it easy.

Sorry you are going through this. It is all too familiar. I was pregnant in February and had a bleed like that a week after my BFP. I had no cramping and the bleeding stopped that day. I unfortunately m/c 2 weeks later. I hope and pray this is not the case for you. Do your best to relax (I know it's hard when stressed about blood results) and take care of yourself.

For now just wait for your results and relax. I have had a lot of bleeding on and off in my two pregnancies. One ended in MC and now currently have a healthy heart beat. Just take care of yourself.

I'm sorry to hear this, it is not easy and I know it can be scary. I have been bleeding with this pregnancy too and my RE said it was normal. I know everyone's case is different though, but I really hope everything goes well for you! Sending you internet hugs!

I am 5 weeks and 6 days and just Thursday morning I had bleeding that looked like normal period blood. It only lasted a short time and hasn't started again sense. I got blood work and my numbers went up, but did not double. My doctor is going to continue to watch my numbers and soon we have an ultrasound. She said as long as my numbers keep going up and everything else looks good, it could be a bunch of different things causing it. A big thing she said is breakthrough bleeding. That's when you bleed during pregnancy close to the time you would have your normal period. The best thing to do is stay positive, rest, and not worry!

I have the same as you.. have lot of bleeding and cramps. I am hoping that I am not losing this baby I have a scan on Wednesdays to see If I am still pregnant or not.. I have been bleeding for a week now it's bright red blood and the cramps are starting be get hard to ignore, but then I woke up this morning with sore nipples so I just don't no what going on. Can't wait till I have a scan to no for sure If in pregnant of having a mc. I'm 6 weeks tomorrow. Fingers crossed for both of us. X

So sorry you're experiencing this. With my last pregnancy I had severe bleeding, I would just pour blood and then it would stop. It turned out to be an hematoma on the placenta that would rupture every few days. It was terrifying. It continued until around 7 months. My daughter was born full term, slightly smaller than average 5lbs. But she was healthy and almost 7 years old now. Just remain as calm as possible, I know it's really hard.

Thanks for all of the positive wishes this past weekend. I continued to bleed and pass numerous blood clots. I went to see my doctor today pretty sure I had miscarried and was JOYOUS and surprised to see my baby and a heartbeat on the ultrasound. They also saw a 1.5 cm sub chorionic hematoma that is causing the bleeding and clots. I have been put on bed rest until my next ultrasound in a week. My NP said this could still be concern for threatened miscarriage but it was a very positive sign to see the heartbeat and the baby is measuring around 6 weeks 1 day. Based on my dates I am 6 weeks 5 days. So hoping the baby continues to grow and the blood clot dissolves without any injury.

I had an SCH last pregnancy around 13 weeks. I currently have a rambunctious 1 year old out of the deal. The bleeding is so nerve wracking but try not to stress (and take it way easy).

I have an 8mm bleed right next to my gestational sac. 6w2d. Also trying not to stress about it. That teeny heartbeat was glorious. I too was thoroughly convinced that I was miscarrying.
