I know we've discussed our favorite baby items, but a lot of that thread was people gushing about their rock n plays, or their swings, or larger ticket items. At this stage I'm not really interested in purchasing a mamaroo or a puppycuddle swing or whatever its called. I'm more interested in the small items that make your life easier.
For example - I'm going to get another pack of Aden and anais swaddle blankets, they're expensive, yes, but LO and mom and dad both love them. I was also planning on a microwave sterilizer. And I am really interested in sleep sacks / swaddle sacks. I know
@virginiaunicorn11 mentioned her woombie and I added one to my registry so I can purchase one, but has anyone else used a ready made swaddle sack and loved it?
So, help me round out my baby supply most efficiently. What kind of boring, seemingly mundane items make your days and nights with LO easier?
Re: Shopping for my completion discount - what items have you been super glad for?
Here are a few other things I like:
Dr. Brown's bottles, bottle drying rack, 6-bottle cooler (if you need to transport bottles to daycare), Bumbo with tray attachment (when they're older), blanket/lovie for when they start to self soothe.
I'm sure there is more, but that's what comes to mind right now.
We started out using Summer Infant Swaddler Pods but I think our LO didn't like those because they're so tight around the legs. If her arms are going to be swaddled, she needs to be able to kick freely, apparently. LOL
I also second the Medea bags. They are so convenient.
Those are my two favorite items for LO.
Dr Browns bottles, Medela steam bag
Super cheap vibrating bouncer (can move around house)
Wubanub paci (I like bc the animal will balance on his chest and If it pops out he can relatch himself a lot of the time)
I use a white noise playlist on my phone but that's a must for us too
Boppy
Clay hot/cold therapy thing from CVS (hot for increasing pumping time/out put, cold thrown in ice chest with milk)
Baby K'tan
We've been enjoying the bandana-style bibs that protect against spit up and save changing clothes constantly.
We also love sleep gowns with open bottom for easy diaper changes. If you want to get fancy, Kicky Pants is the softest, most amazing brand for those.
I bought LO a sun hat that we use daily.
If you don't have enough good nursing bras, add those. Getting that situation sorted changed my life, and took me way too long. I still need to buy a sleep bra.
@teather5 and anyone else who uses a Ktan - do you have the breeze or regular version? The breeze would be good for the remainder of summer here cause I don't have ac, but once it gets cold here, its COLD. I'm trying to weigh the benefit of having it be cooler while I'm out and about this summer (or moving around the house) vs when I may want to wear it in the winter (but then, I will probably be only wearing it inside in the winter, not outside. Its just too damned cold to be outside, period)
I third (or fourth?) the Medela sterilizing bags...
Aden & Anais burp rag/bibs are amazing! Someone gave me a few and they are great for burping b/c they are shaped to fit over the shoulder.
One thing I got that I didn't think I would use, but is now one of my must haves is the snuggleroo baby bean bag chair. It's light so it's easy to carry from room to room to have a place to plop baby down in.
