Heat rash

DD is 18 months and seems to have a heat rash on her face (it looks like it at least, it's all small red bumps). I have been wiping it clean and drying it several times a day and also putting aquaphor on it. Is there anything else I should be doing?

Re: Heat rash

  • I'd call the pedi.
  • My DD got a rash with a pacifier (on her chin). So we would dry it and apply aquaphor as a barrier to the moisture. I wouldn't think a barrier applies to a heat rash. I try not to use ointments and such.

  • My pedi told me to use cornstarch for a heat rash on her body. Seems to be working and helping with itching. Although, she has another rash on her side that requires an rx cream.
  • You apply only cornstarch to the rash? It is not mixed with anything? Her skin also started getting a little dry so I've been applying honest company face moisturizer for babies at every diaper change and it's almost completely gone now
