4am and wide awake

And I have work in the morning! I'm only 27 weeks and already sleep is horrible. My hips and back hurt me from sleeping on my side. I'm currently on my recliner with legs elevated because I was so uncomfortable in bed! I have a snoogle and a million other pillows on my bed. Is this just another "deal with it" symptom of pregnancy? Ugh I just want to cry that I'm already this uncomfortable :(

  • I'm in the same boat. I've been awake for the past three hours. I'm also roasting! I'm sure that's part of why I can't sleep. I think my air is set on like 65, too, so it's already pretty cold. I have to be up in three to get ready for my doctor's appointment...glucose test. Ugh! I guess I'll just be a grouchy bear tomorrow. X(

  • I've been up since 3, but only thanks to my son. It's going to be a long day.

I think i mightve gotten an hour or so of sleep in between twisting and turning trying to get comfortable. Heartburn has been horrible all night and nothing would help..

But you know, get your sleep now because you wont be able to when baby gets here! Ugh, can i punch the next person that tells me that and means it? ~X(

  • Omg seriously! Also I finally fell back to sleep but was woken up at 7am with a Charlie horse :( ughhhh

  • I was up around the same time, but only because of the horrible nightmares! I was doing okay when hubby was home, but once he left for work at 3am I had a hard time falling back asleep!
  • I've bareley slept for the last two nights, but not because of any physical discomfort. I just can't get my mind to stop racing. The tricks I usually use to clear my head aren't working.

I have that issue as well.  Once I wake up I start thinking of all the things I have yet to do and get quite a bit of anxiety!  I just try to meditate and usually that helps get me back to sleep.  Try writing your worries/thoughts/plans down before bed and "leave them on the paper" so to speak.  I read that as a technique to help with insomnia!

  • I've been having a hard time staying asleep too. I started taking a Benadryl on work nights & have been sleeping like a champ. I don't necessarily like to use medicine but OB said it was ok & I was literally losing my sanity from not sleeping.

  • Same. It's a combination of my mind racing and the fact that I have to toss and and turn 1 million times before falling asleep. Basically I have no comfortable position. Ever. (:|
  • Yep, started to get uncomfortable from sleeping sideways. I'm a flat sleeper and I miss lying on my back. When I do now, I have trouble breathing. I turn a lot during the night, not to mention I get up like 3-4 times to pee. I miss a good night's sleep. But will endure anything for Baby Girl. :) Stay in there another 3 months, Baby Girl. :)
  • Babe had a party at 3am this morning and had to up for work at 415 (accompanied by serval t rips to the bathroom throughout the night), thankfully we got rained out and I got some naps in! Hoping tonight goes smoother. I seem to get a good night sleep followed by several nights of insomnia. I had severe insomnia for 5 years several years ago and it took a long time and a lot of work to get myself on a schedual, when the sleepless nights start racking up I start getting freaked out that I'm back on that path, which doesn't help the sandman to come!
