Hemorrhoid issues- Surgery?

I had a serious flare up third trimester because of the intense pressure down there. My girl was really low and heavy. It got worse after giving birth vaginally and from 4.5 hours of pushing. My doctor recommended surgery. I know it's a painful recovery and can be expensive because insurance usually doesn't cover it right? I know it's a little TMI but it's very painful. Has anyone had the surgery? And or has anyone done anything to treat it that worked besides tucks pads and witch hazel business?

Re: Hemorrhoid issues- Surgery?

  • Surgery is a good option and I've heard it's not that painful. I would call your insurance and ask if it's covered. I personally would do anything necessary to get rid of hemorrhoids if mine stuck around.

  • Yeah, I think I will call insurance and ask. It would be good if I could get this done before I go back to work.

    Definitely!
  • Plus if I plan on having another in a year or two, I want to nip it in the bud. Pun intended

Oh the hemorrhoids will come back :) At least mine did!
  • How far pp are you? I had a rally bad one and I didn't feel total relief until about 8+ weeks pp. I'm 11 weeks pp and feel great now.
