This may be TMI... But, I have noticed recently that my vagina smells like B.O. - I've never had this smell before... Any thoughts?? I'm 9 weeks pregnant and am grossed out by the smell... Is this a normal pregnancy thing or do I need to call my dr?
That sounds a bit wierd. I haven't heard that one before. If you're worried you could probably ask them to check for a vaginal infection but I would think that you would have other symptoms like unusual discharge and itching.

I actually have heard of an odor being present during pregnancy due to additional hormones, which can cause this symptom in some women. Rule out any bacterial infections though.
When your pregnant you'll have more discharge, your vagina normally has its own unique "smell" but it shouldn't smell bad to you... If it smells bad see your dr and rule out bacterial vaginosis !
I had that same thing and I just went to my OB today and had my urine tested. Everything was normal. They said sometimes that can happen with pregnancy
You may have a vaginal infection… If you have already had your first appt and they did a pap you may want to call for the results… it may show something you can take an antibiotic for. If not, I would still call and see if they want you to come in for a urine specimen or something to make sure.
I've been carrying around baby wipes and wearing panty liners because I urinate so often, it gives me peace of mind knowing all is fresh "down there". I appreciate your sharing such a sensitive topic.
It may be bacterial vaginosis (BV). A pap will most definitely determine whether you have it or not, so be sure you go see your midwife or obgyn for a pap. Yeast infections are typically odorless. Is the odor fishy? Do you have discharge? These are common symptoms of BV. Here's some info from Mayo Clinic, "Bacterial vaginosis is a type of vaginal inflammation that results from the overgrowth of one of several types of bacteria normally present in the vagina, upsetting the natural balance of vaginal bacteria. Women in their reproductive years are most commonly affected by bacterial vaginosis, but any woman can experience the condition. Doctors don't know exactly why bacterial vaginosis develops, but certain activities, such as unprotected sexual intercourse or frequent douching, put you at higher risk of the condition." If BV is the culprit you can use hydrogen peroxide, plain yogurt, and folic acid for natural and harmless treatment... check out this website: https://endago.net/bacterialvaginosisremedies/ and research yourself. Talk to you doc or midwife. Docs may try to prescribe antibiotics but they seem too risky during pregnancy and have caused vaginal bleeding and miscarriage. Please research yourself. I hope this helps. And btw, this website is made for pregnant women to post concerns and such. There's nothing offensive or wrong with linny4's post. We are here to share info and help one another. Oh cmon @Bigboobsmcgee don't judge her. Surely you've seen worse shared on the bump. This is not a place to shun those who have real questions no matter how gross they may seem to you.

@BabyPamer this is a very real topic especially for the expectant mothers. Things happen down there that some doctors don't even tell you about! It's not pretty right now lol I also noticed a smell *eek* but it's not what I would consider bad. Just not normal if I wasn't expecting but I think hormones do all sorts of funky stuff to it.
