People stress too much about eating healthy in the first trimester. Unless you have minimal morning sickness, it's extremely hard! I eat whatever calms my stomach and doesn't sound like it's going to make me sick. Right now it's Doritos. The first trimester is about survival. I'll get back to healthy eating when my ms goes away, and let the prenatals do their work until then.

Drives me nuts!!! And YES to the survival mode. You will have two trimesters to make up for it!!

I dont think I want to participate in the whole Santa charade with my kid. My H is ambivalent about it. I'd rather just not feed into it and let them think of Santa as a Christmas mascot rather than a real human who accomplishes unhuman like tasks. And the whole, "he's always watching" thing is kind of weird to me. So is the big emphasis on presents.

What we want to do is tell our kids Santa brings a gift to every child, even if they make mistakes. But only one. They will know the rest are from us and family. So every Christmas there will be the one gift under the tree that says from Santa. Because I am like you, I don't like much the whole Santa thing, and never really believed it when I was a child anyways.

@blueeyedrose86 I totally had a banana and Doritos for breakfast.... Cool Ranch in case you were wondering!
@fwtx5815 I'm not big on presents at Christmas. A handful of presents is good, especially when they are well thought out and personal, but DH's family goes so freaking overboard it is ALL ABOUT THE PRESENTS! And I can't stand that. The past couple of years I asked for a goat for Christmas, https://community.elca.org/goodgifts-animals My inlaws got creative and gave me a gift basket with the gift card showing a goat had been donated in my name, some fancy crackers and some goat cheese. It was awesome. I didn't need anything, and I would rather bask in the warmth of the Christmas spirit. Call me sentimental and sappy, but my favorite part of Christmas was the Christmas Pageant and Nativity, driving around looking at Christmas lights, special shopping trip yes but the decorations and music and then we would go out to eat somewhere really special after we were done shopping, getting dressed up to go going to see the Nutcracker, midnight candle light service, making cookies, watching White Christmas, Christmas breakfast and just spending the day together.

I don't think handprint crafts are that cute. What am I supposed to do with a thousand different variations of my girls' handprints?
This. Also, I hate clutter and love to throw things away (idk why it just feels good), but my H is more sentimental and is probably going to want to keep every craft the kid makes.

That's when you take a picture of said crafts and make a book out of all the craft pictures when he/she is older

@Hullabaloo2016 like you, I think there's so much more that makes the Christmas season special besides presents. Someone a while back told me that not letting kids believe in Santa ruins the Christmas spirit. I think the (other) traditions and time with family are plenty, without having to lie about a fat dude that sneaks into your house.

I think pregnancy is gross. Everything about it has always made my stomach turn. I have always wanted children though and since we haven't figured out a way to let men carry babies or grow them in a vase by the bed, I am hoping I can get past my hangups. I am OK with the idea of adoption but I'd love to have a mini-DH.
I thought of another UO: while a kid calling their mother "mama" doesn't bother me, I hate when a woman refers to herself as "a mama." It just seems like something you shouldn't say to another adult in conversation, in person or online.

Or when a parent refers to their self as mommy or daddy when the child is in their teens or older..."Daddy will pick you up at this time" "Come give Mommy a hug." Dude your kid is 40! Stop!
