Smelly

totally embarassing ....and yes I shower daily lol but does anyone else have a smelly nether region? I've just started noticing it:/

Re: Smelly

  • I always complain about this and asked my husband (no questions are off limits with us) and he said it was in my head.

  • I've noticed a couple of different times that there is a smell. I hope I'm the only one that can smell it.
  • I also ask my husband pretty regularly. It was one of the first things I noticed changing before I even could get a positive pregnancy test.
  • With all of my pregnancies I've found I can smell myself. It'll go away when I shower and then it comes back not too long after. Anyone I ask tells me it's in my head and they don't smell anything
  • Try a body wash for that part of your body. They make some that helps your ph balance. I think the further long you are the better ones nose becomes.

Same! I read somewhere else that pantiliners help so I tried that and I don't notice it as much. I think there must be some discharge that's light enough I don't notice it, or sweat, or both, that's just sticking to my skin and underwear.
  • Samsies. I have to use panty liners.
  • Yeah, and it's worse now that it's hot out and sweaty :/

  • i thought i was the only one :/
  • Yeah I wouldn't describe it as bad, because that might indicate an infection. But it's definitely different.
  • As far as I know my region does not smell, I always ask DH as well. But I do sweat ALOT and I've always used panty liners bc if this even before expecting. It has just gotten way worse and now I itch all the time.. Ugh it's a never ending battle. Panty liners and A&D ointment are my best friends right now.
  • Yes I feel so gross
  • I haven't noticed a strong smell but some days I am just so damp & sweaty! If I'm wearing a skirt, it actually has caused a heat rash on my thighs. So absolutely agree with the above comment on A & D being her friend.... Same here!
  • So days the A&D works and some days nothing works! Ugh this is the one pregnancy symptom I hate! :-q
  • Same here! And it's worse with the heat. I wore dress today and even my inside thighs chapped.
  • Just got home from a baseball game.. We won \m/
Let's just say I'm ready for a shower .. I had my doctor give me another pap bec I couldn't believe all the access discharge she said its normal .. It's so annoying and yeah after being out in the heat with jeans On that will happen .. Sucks !

what sort of smell? like an 'it might be an infection smell' or sweaty sort of smell?
  • My husband has always said I have the nose of a Bassett hound, but there is definitely a change. I do remember right after I found out I was pregnant that I thought my urine smelled bad. That lasted for a couple weeks and then went away. I'm chalking my current eau de pregnancy to hormones and increased discharge.

Any time I have to make an outfit last any extended amount of time, I bring extra undies, and I also use my deodorant stick on my inner thighs and under my boobs. Because in South Florida in July, you can't play around with BO

  • Yep. I just try and brush it off. It happens daily so why fret too much. Sometimes I'll bring an extra pair of undies if it's extra hot out and I know I'll be bothered by it later.
  • Yeah, I think it's the sweat/slightly elevated discharge that comes with pregnancy. I've noticed it goes away if I bathe and/or change undies. And less breathable undies make it worse.
  • Yep, I stink, and I hate it! But I think it may be pee! I think I leak a little all day. Gross.
  • This thread makes me laugh!!! I'm glad it's not just me! Panty liners, baby powder and frequent showers are what's getting me by! Luckily the hubs takes no notice!
  • Good god. I am not the only one. I change panties constantly. Use panty liners. Deodorant on my thighs. Strong smelling lotion. And I still pick it up. It's so gross and no one else seems to notice it, but it makes me so self conscious!
  • Use all of the above and always carry baby wipes helpful when your not at home and want to freshen up !
