Daily Symptoms, Questions and Concerns Check In - July 17

Morning Ladies!

After an exciting day yesterday, seeing our little Blob on the US for the first time and then rocking out at the Tim McGraw concert, I'm exhausted today.

How is everyone? What's bothering you? What questions or concerns do you have?

Re: Daily Symptoms, Questions and Concerns Check In - July 17

  • I'm doing as good as can be expected. My fibromyalgia is flaring up today and I have no appetite. I'm just plain exhausted. Have to try to keep up with my toddler today. My only reasonable goal for today: sneak a shower in while he is taking a nap. Unfortunately, there is not a lot of information out there on fibromyalgia while pregnant. With my first pregnancy, I was in remission until 4 months post-partum. I will be seeing my physical therapist soon for more help with exercises for it and for sciatica that has started up.

  • Sorry you're dealing with that @anniyas! I hope your physical therapist can help. I found out yesterday that I have a possibility of ovarian cancer so I can really empathize with how hard that would be! I wrote about it in this thread. Besides me possibly having cancer things are pretty good over here. Headaches, poor sleep, and morning sickness but none of them are unmanageable. Obviously the cancer thing is my main concern right now!

My nausea was bad last night and not feeling to well this morning. I am also super tired even though I went to bed at 9 last night. I think I will take a nap in my car during lunch. Plus I just feel uncomfortable. I really didn't want to get dressed this morning I wanted to wear my pajamas to work. Can't it be Saturday.

@nickicb7 - glad ultrasound went well! @anniyas - hope PT helps! I have an RA like condition and my symptoms don't fit anyone condition profile. I am a puzzle to my docs. Have you tried acupuncture? It helps keep things in check for me.
@claireloSC - hope you get good news soon. Recovering from CVS yesterday and should know results by Monday. Have light cramping and it hurts to walk/move do I am laying low. Feeling overwhelmed, otherwise good.
  • @skfg FX on the CVS! Did you have extra risk factors that required that test? I didn't realizing it made you cramp and all that, ugh! I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks @claireloSC! I am Ama/ (barely) and high risk bc of autoimmune condition/previous blood clot so I did NT and Harmony. Awful NT scan - bad tech. I think she mismeasured based on #s yesterday - HUGE variance. Harmony came back w/90% chance of Down's. Had 3 days to do CVS (bc of where I was in pregnancy). They did via abdomen. It carries slight risk of miscarriage so I have to take it easy for a few days. I am sure my chronic condition is contributing. I feel what will be will be and not planning to terminate. As you know, it is a lot to take in and process.
  • @skfg Dang, what a whirlwind! I hate when you are forced to rush into medical decision like that. When I was trying to get pregnant I often had to make rushed decisions like that and found it SO overwhelming and horrible. While I hope your LO is healthy, I think it's good you will be getting the extra info to be prepared in case not. At least Down's is compatible with life and you know you can have a happy baby assuming no other serious health problems. A friend's nephew has Down's and she made this cute little video about him and some other kiddos with it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILgLmChlxNg Good luck with everything and keep us posted!

  • 12w on the dot today! Feeling pretty good today, a little tired, a little hungry, but nothing unmanageable at all. Mostly I'm just going out of my mind waiting for these blood results for our chromosomal/sex test! My sister-in-law's mom was an OB nurse and she says I should just call and ask because my results are low priority for them (unless something is wrong), so there's a good chance it's just sitting there and they're doing other things. But my nurse SWORE she would call me, she specifically asked if I wanted a call the second they knew the sex, so I feel like I'm not trusting her if I call in!

  • My goodness @claireloSC and @skfg I'm sorry to hear it's been a few days of difficult news. Thinking and praying for the best for you both. I think @claireloSC makes some fabulous points about Downs. As a teacher I have met some beautiful children who have downs and their lives are very fulfilled! We always say a child with special needs is a child first and has an exceptionality second. They are not a special needs child.

    Luck to you both!

Holy acne batman! 12 weeks 1 day and it looks like I'm in junior high again. Not fun, but from this thread it sounds quite mild in comparison to some of the other thing you all are dealing with. 12 week appointment is later today to confirm everything is still going well, and I'm hoping the morning sickness eases off soon.
  • 13 weeks today and holy crap I'm sure you can see my nipples from space! When did they get so big and dark, sheesh! Does that go away after birth? Or do I just need to get used to them? Otherwise feeling pretty good!
Thoughts and prayers for all you ladies here going through a difficult time!
